Are your teenagers ready for life after high school?

Posted on Thursday 19 March 2009 by Greg @ 7:13 am
    Filed under: Youth Ministry

This video from my friends at liveabove.com does a great job at explaining the need for graduating high school seniors to be financially, socially, spiritiually and emotionally prepared for college life. You’ve heard the “great graduation statistics” of how many teenagers abandon their faith after high school right? Well we need to do what it takes to, not just help them survive spiritually through those college years, but thrive.

Are you ready to help teenagers you know “live above” the fray?

      • Thanks, Greg.
God put it on my heart after viewing the video to invite our graduates back to share their experiences with our juniors and seniors. The LiveAbove site looks pretty cool. I’ll share that with the guys and gals and wrangle a packet for our youth group.

      • Thanks for that Greg! I’ll have to check it out deeper. Totally had my prego hormones come out and put me in tears. I was one of those kids that was so strong in my faith in highschool and first semester of college. Then I got caught up in the party scene for the first time ever. I was able to fight it the first semester of my sophomore year, but again in that Spring semester fell right into it again. God totally pulled me out, one of my recent blogs (http://www.danaschmoyer.com/2009/03/gods-plan-is-much-better/ ) is my struggle with God before I transferred schools after my sophomore year. College is tough. It’s always been hard for me to admit my mistakes in college and making choices that didn’t please God, but I am so thankful for God’s grace and saving me from it.

I haven’t read it, we heard him speak before Christmas at a FCA breakfast. I should borrow it from people in the church who bought it.

      • Dude, I can’t wait to go to college next year.
High school years were really bad for me but having a new fresh start and start over is just awesome way. Of course you have to be very careful on campus of college life but other than that, it awesome knowing that im going to college. It can be scary for us!

        P.S
Guess what? Im addicted to Veggietales! Thanks to my little brother in christ! A 3 year old who love veggietales!
