    Who would you vote for?

Posted on Tuesday 4 November 2008 by Greg @ 10:19 am
    Filed under: Rants

Being election day and all I thought I would try to get your input on something. If you could pick anyone from any time or place to vote for as President of the United States (excluding John McCain, Barack Obama and Jesus) who would it be and why?

Mine? It would be Abraham Lincoln. Why? Because we need the wisdom, tenaciousness and courage that he exemplified in his presidency now more than ever.

Runner up…John Wayne. Why? No reason, I just think it would be cool.

Now, if you dare, tell me who you would vote for and why.

    Signed, Greg Stier

        - he wouldn’t have to send anyone to fight the wars, he could do it himself
        - he’s a Texas Ranger so the boarder thing is covered
        - do you really think politicians would run a negative campaign against him? i don’t think so

        Norris in 2012!

      • Call me crazy but here’s my vote.
Though he’s not a celebrity, sports star or previous politician I’d vote for my brother Jim.
        Why? Because he’s a:
Cop – it takes patients, discipline, and sometimes hardcore leadership with on the spot decisions.
Deacon in his church – the spiritual leadership needed
Father – he understands the needs of the average American family.
        That would be my vote!

      • Pontius Pilate – He knew how to bow to the whims of the people…..

No…seriously, this is harder than it seems……..

Perhaps, John Adams – As a “founding father” of the United States of America, he was also both tenacious and courageous and had a lot of ‘stick-to-it-tiveness’ to get the job done. Although apparently not a ‘religious’ man, he seems to have exemplified one who thought the best of his constituents and seems to have truly believed in the ‘power of the people’ for the good of all. He was straightforward and definitely NOT charismatic. He seems to have said what he meant and meant what he said and followed through to the best of his abilities, even when others didn’t agree. He seems to have known how to argue a point and disagree without destroying relationships completely. He seems to have known how to resist the allure of power simply for the sake of being powerful. He seems to have truly wished and strived for America to be “the Land of the Free”. And he doesn’t seem to have believed that legislation was the cure all for everything in life…………..

      • Ronald Reagan has my vote! Here is a challenger who defeated Jimmy Carter, the incumbent President, 489 to 49 electoral votes. Here is a guy who, on the day of his inauguration as President of THE United States of America, took the Oath of Office with his hand on this mother’s Bible opened to 2Chronicles 7:14,”If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
On the day of his inauguration we saw over 50 American hostages that had been held by Iran for 444 days FREED! Many people said,”Gee, what a coincidence!” Here is a guy who was shot by a would-be assassin and came back to the Oval Office shortly thereafter to effectively lead a country in desperate need of leadership. He declared war on terrorism and bombed Libya and a terrorist whose very name struck fear into the hearts of EVERYONE worldwide, Muammar al-Gaddafi. Gaddafi was really never heard from again. He outspent the Soviets and tumbled the Berlin Wall. Here is a guy who BELIEVED in the sanctity of the Office of the President of The United States of America, and served the Office and the citizens accordingly. Thank You, God, for Ronald Reagan!

      • Dr. James Dobson. He loves Jesus. He has deep convictions that he unashamedly stands for day in and day out. One of his greatest passions in life is the preservation of the family. I’ve heard it said that a church is only as strong as the families within the church. Well it stands to reason that a nation is only as strong as the churches within it. (DEEP FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST AND HIM ALONE.) Family…God designed it for His glory and honor. May America bless God today and forever.

By the way, how would we address him????? President Dr. Dobson or Dr. President Dobson or just “Yo Jim, what’s up dude?!?!?!?” Just kiddin’ Dr. Dobson. :) +
