What a GREAT Seattle Conference

Posted on Sunday 18 March 2007 by Greg @ 6:36 pm
Filed under: Rants

Over 4,000 teens were registered, about five hundred of them came to Jesus on Friday night, over 150 e-teams were launched and somewhere around 9 tons of canned food was collected (in the rain by the way!) for Hopelink Food bank! All in all I say it was an EXCELLENT conference. Praise be to God!

These soaked and stoked teenagers responded very well to the Game Day training curriculum. They were fully engaged as they learned to "GO! FIGHT! WIN!"

We even had a youth group of thirty or so fly in from Houston and another group coming in from Alaska! It was so exciting for me to see these teenagers equipped to make a difference and then watch them do it during the outreach time and the cell phone challenge.

If you were at the Seattle Dare 2 Share conference I’d love to hear about your experience.

We’d all love to hear!

Signed, Greg Stier

    • Ya the Seattle Conference was great! I had a lot of fun! A lot of people made life changing decisions that first night. And i know i learned a lot! Like to not measure yourself in how much sin you have done but to accept that I am going to Heaven just by beleving in Jesus no matter what. All of the activites were great! I especially liked the drama!!!!! Does any one know where i could get a copy of that script (or a script like it) cause i have a desire to perform it with my own church? God bless!

    • Hey Greg! I’d like to start by thanking you for preaching your message in a really understandable relateable (if that’s a word) way! I haven’t really been connected to Jesus lately and I totally broke down after the drama the first night. I’m so pumped and refreshed in my faith that I plan on attending youth group regularly and am going to attend church for the first time since I was a young child. I always used to say "I don’t need to go to church to be a Christian!" but now I want to go to church because I want to learn more about Christ and stay surrounded by the Lord’s love! You rock and I will pray for you and the Dare2Share program and would like for you to pray for me to be steadfast in my renewed faith! Oh and by the way, my boyfriend found Jesus for the first time thanks to your service! Continue to inspire!

    • Hello Greg. Thank you for such an incredible Seattle Dare 2 Share Conference!!  I had the opportunity to take 13 of my most mature teens and God did some amazing things in their lives on Friday night. I want to tell you how incredible the time was when the youth leaders got to stand up and all pray in unison for our kids.  What better way to show the teens what it means to pour ones life out like a drink offering then to see and hear all of youth leaders praying for them and how much we care for them.  We spent the rest of that session in prayer and worship and the Holy Spirit moved all of my teens to fall upon their knees in near unison while worshiping. We are a  small rural church with a relatively conservative congregation so that out pouring of love during worship just hasn’t happened before yet the Holy Spirit not only moved the hearts of our youth to humble themselves that way but it moved all of them.  I had several of them tell me they didn’t even know anyone else was on their knees until they opened their eyes.  Thank you for all you do.  We will be bringing the whole youth group with us next year!  Mike

    • IT WAS AWESOME!!!  And during the cell phone challenge thing, I couldn’t get to one of my friends on the phone so I called another one that I’ve been praying for, for awhile.  She listened to the whole gospel message without shutting off her phone.  Then the conversation sort of ended, and I’m going to talk to her some more about it at school tomorrow, along with the first friend that I didn’t get on the phone.

    • I was at the Seattle conference, it was absolutly amazing. I was so terrified of going door-to-door, but God totally helped me to somewhat conquer my nervousness and we got to talk to some really cool people, as well as graduate from PU ;). Our group really bonded too, and we had some great talks about what we had learned and how we were going to live it out when we got home. It was so great worshipping with that many people, and being down at the front was such a cool experience because we were totally surrounded by people who were giving their all to God. The Drama really impacted me, as well as many others in my youth group, it was so powerful and really inspired me to remember who I am in Christ, and to reach my non-Christian friends, because we really dont know how much time we have left on this earth. Thank you Greg and Dare2Share!

Everything they did and said was awsome, and I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. The main skit on Friday was powerful and makes me want to know that my friends believe in Jesus and not just say the words. I am going on a mission trip during my spring break and it Dare2Share has made me really excited and has helped prepared me. Thank you for coming to Seattle.

I have been a Youth Pastor for 6 years and this  by far was the best event that we have been too…….The music was killer and loud did I say loud……..Greg I could see that God was leading you every step. I love the fire in your voice…What hit me and made me have a hard time to breath was when I saw God working on all the teens in this event. I will  be bring a bigger group to your next event. We can not wait till next year…I just want to say something to Scotty Clark…You rock man. I hope the Dare 2 Share staff know that you are a star in the Team. The phone help we got from him was great and He is worth his weight in Gold…….NYI rocks …I was blown away  to see so many kids give their life to God…Wow 500 teens that is great… Keep up the Good work and God be with you Safe Harbor NYI

    • Greg, You are amazing! I thought that last year’s "Revolution" was great, but this year you took the message and love of Christ to another level. Last year, I was able to bring 5 students up from Aurora Oregon and this year I brought 14 students and 2 other adults. We had 3 kids make first time decisions after the drama on Friday night. I have been as you said, "begging" God to do something powerful this weekend in the lives of these kids-God came through in a big way! The cell phone challenge is something that has made my  life a little rocky though. I am a full time youth pastor and so I didn’t call a teenager, I called a 28 yr old neighbor of mine. When I got home, my wife who is good friends with Rob’s wife said that they felt that it was a very ackward moment and wierd phone call. I thought that I had a good enough relationship with Rob to ask him about God, but it turns out that I hadn’t and it only came across as juding them. I just feel aweful about it. Your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated in this chapter of my life. Thanks.  PD

I also am going to give talking to my brother about Jesus another shot, usually these conversations between us end nasty but i really feel i need to talk to him now more than ever because he is in the military and he will be going to Iraq in a couple of weeks. but i just wanted to thank you for your part in the D2S conference and for all the lives that have been changed by it.

One of my 15 yr old football (6′2 "tough Dude")guys who we all thought was a chrisitan had prayed yrs ago, seen change but he still made some bad choices since.  At the Pastor/tell them (when we stood up)time he came to me with 4 of my 6 students,  he held back till last then looked into my eyes and started crying, I asked him why and he said he had prayed before but it was mostly just a prayer, you see the drama had told him he better be sold out for God not just posing! (good job D2S!)  well he just kept crying,  I hugged him and he just held on.  He ask through his tears how long does this last (his tears) for you see he is a tuff guy in his "image".  I wiped my tears and told him I was so proud of him and he grabbed me again in a full celebration hug.  When I happened to look back at the youth kids and leaders I could have just died laughing they all had their mouths handing open like baby birds looking for food, what joyful shock!  This youth during the conferance and yesterday at church told anyone who will listen that he gave his  heart fully to Jesus and how he feels "free"!!!!Praise the Lord!  Just so you know this is not like him. Your obedience to Gods calling has not just touch his life but also mine.  I have been a youth pastor for about 15 years and was feeling "boxed" and stale.  (I have devoured Ministry Mutiny almost read the whole book in 2 days) I have a great bunch of youth to work with but…  I  had prayed Lord I need your help they wont go deeper. I felt like I was digging with a hand spade in blacktop.  AHHHH ! So we came to the conferance for the 2nd year on scholorships and a prayer….. Oh Yeah God is sooooo faithful I could have done cartwheels ….I was sitting in the pastors meeting trying to not look like I needed a major nap and I got the "blam" in the back of my head, GO WIDE Kit E-TEAMS  yep here we go! I had tryed some e-team stuff but sisnt get it till now. Praise and glory to God and thanks to you all at D2S I am very pumped!  I still need a major nap, cuz now I am too excited to sleep! Whooho.  Thanks guys your the best Pastor Stacy

I’ve been having a really hard time for the past couple of months with trying to get the courage to talk to my non- Christian friends. I called one of my agnostic friends on Saturday and I was so shocked by how well she listened and how brave I was that I just broke down into tears as soon as I hung up. Today I was talking to one of my friends who sort of stopped believing in God and she agreed to come to youth group with me. Thanks so much for equipping me with the tools and the confidence to share the gospel with my friends! See you next year!!!

    • The Dare 2 Share conference in Seattle was so amazing. I was not a strong christian at all before this weekend. I was more like, "Yea whatever Jesus died for me… who cares." But then my life and everything changed on Friday night. I knew many of my friends there were praying for me and that made me want to change more. With the message given, the worship and the drama it changed my life forever. Everything about this weekend was so awesome. I am so glad I decided to go to it. I wasnt the kind of girl you looked at and thought I was a christian. I was a bad kid. I was into drugs, drinking and suicidal actions. I would never talk to anyone about God. I went to youth group every week, and it was fun, but I went more cuz my friends wanted me to. Well this weekend changed everything. On saturday, when we went to dinner, I text my best friend who is athiest and told her I wanted to talk to her about the weekend. Then we got the 48 hour challenge. Well I called her. She said, "Taylor… are you joking? This isnt you at all. You arent christian, far from it. God could never forgive you for all that you have done." And I said, "that is where you are wrong." We talked for a while before she hung up on me. Well I didnt give up. Today at school me and another one of my friends went up and sat by her. We brought up if she would go to heaven if she died. She just stared at me. My other friend saw she needed to leave so she did. I sat there alone with my best friend. I then told her about all the things I learned this weekend and all the life changing things that happened. She told me that was my opinion and that when she dies she will go where she goes and if that is hell then it is hell. This was so upseting to me I cried. I told her about the drama Friday night. I told her I loved her and wanted her to be happy and that she couldnt possibly be happy without God in her life. She started to get tears in her eyes and then she burst. She hugged me and said, "Taylor… You are such an amazing friend and I dont know what I would do without you. Just please keep me in your thoughts and pray about me, and so will I. But please dont leave me to do this alone. I need you here with me." It was so amazing. Thanks to the conference and ofcourse God I was able to have the strength to talk to her, and I was able to save her life.

This last weekend was the second time that my youth group went and most of the people that came this year were people that heard about all the hype last year. When they left they were like wow that was awesome. I have a couple of friends that went and go really fired up for God. They came up with a list of people that We all are going to talk to and it’s about 20-30 different people that we feel that really need to here God’s word. htanks to you guy’s It was brough to my attention that I had just given up on one of my friends and that I shouldn’t have. I had gotten to were I was tired of trying to talk to him about going to chrch and trying to get him on the right path that I just gave up. SundayI had a chance to speak with hima and talked to him alittle aboutr how I had tried to get a hold of him during the cell phone outreach. Thanks to FDare to share I am know trying to continue to talk to him and this time I am simply not going to stop. This is jsut something that i am just to fired up about this. I was atcually able to talk to about two to three people at my school today and I think that with alittle more talking to one of my friends he’ll be coming to my youth group very soon. htanks alot for all you do. I KNOW THAT MY YOUTH GROUP HAD A WONDERFUL TIME AND i CANT WAIT TO GO NEXT YEAR.

    • Hey Greg, Im Rebecca Rule and  I was at Dare2Share, March 16th and 17th.  Anyways, the 48 hour challenge, showed great rewards! So I called my friend Alyssa the night of "The Challenge", but she didnt answer. So I just prayed for her during that time! Today, at school, (Monday) around 11:20 am. I sat down with her during 2nd period. And told her that I prayed for her! And she asked me about what: SO I told her:     "I prayed for you and your famliy. About all the problems you guys are going through. With your mom losing her job and Casey and you, and everything else that seems to being going down the drain. And that I hope you realize that God is here to help you" After that was done, She said thanks, and told me what had happened Sunday. (This is where it gets creepy) She told me that it was the "weirdest day" of her life but the coolest day. 1.) Early that morning, her mom got a phone call and she strated to cry: She had gotten was rehired, from the job she was fired from 2.) Her and Casey (her ex-boyfriend) have been having problems through this past year (fighting), CAsey had called her that night, and they talked for about 6 hours, and straightened everything out, and they are now friends again. :D 3.) And finally, Alyssa has been hepling her mom with bills lately, so she went out to search for a car, and found one, but the man hadnt called her back for a while. SO later that Sunday, the man had called her. And gave her the car. Now this man did not make Alyssa pay for this car at all, he just gave it to her! I know I thought it was weird at first. But the funny thing about this man, Was that his name was Jon Carlson, and he was at Dare2Share March 16th and 17th also! Which just gave me the shivers.  This story has inspired me and alot of my friends. God can do alot of amazing things with the split of a second.  Thank you Greg, Dare2Share was amazing experience, as it was last year! I can not wait for Next YEAR! :D .Rebecca Rule

    • Hey Greg, It’s me. The usual writer. I am so pumped rite now! I know why you sacrifice so much to do all that you do more then ever now. I did the 48 hour challenge. I wasn’t able to talk to the girl I talked on the phone to during the cell phone challenge, but God gave me one more oppertunitty. I’ll give you the shorter version. So I was on the bus thinking about how sad and disappointed I was that I wasn’t going to be able to talk to the girl that I was planning on talking to and I looked across from me at another, not as close, friend of mine. She was listening to music, but I decided to interupt her. So I came over and asked her if we could talk. She said yea, so I asked her if she believed in God. She does and we talked more about that and she told me that she leaves churches more confused then when she went. And she believes, but doesn’t really know what to believe. So I asked her if she would mind if I told her what I believed. When she didn’t I went through the whole G.O.S.P.E.L. (in my own words, I don’t know how you ever just stay to the script) So when I finished I asked her if it made sense and she said it did. We talked about youth group, I invited her to come to one that I go to (since I can’t make it to the Springdale, the pie group, one all the time) I told her we could go after tennis practice and we’d give her a ride. She said she would love that. So we even talked about the bible, Greg! She doesn’t even know where to begin there, so I told her that I’ll have my bible w/ me in my bag and that whenever she reads something and it doesn’t make sense to pull me aside and just say, hey this doesn’t make sense. and that, since I’ll have my bible, I will pull it out and we will go over it together. She was actually surprised and asked if I would really do that for her. I told that I would. I also told her that if she ever had any questions to not hesitate to ask. She was so surprised that I would do all that for her. That was so amazing. I can’t put into words how great it feels to be used by God to reach out to other people. I’ve already been hammered by the world, (I had barely been home for an hour) but God has used this to bring me up again. I am so…awed right now, but everytime I talk about it I start to talk really fast. So I plan on talking to the girl I talked with on the phone because I am really worried about her so pray for me! I will need it. And by the way, GameDay was awesome! Everything was so cool. I was very excited to meet you, my friends are sick of me saying how happy I was that you remembered me, I am so thankful that you guys do all of this for us teens. Thank you dare to share staff. And I am ready to GO, FIGHT, and WIN! God bless you guys, seriously, and I will pray for you all. Please pray for me too. p.s. This was the short version. Sorry that I made you read a comment so long. Signing off, Ashley

Today I talked to 2 friends about  how big God is and yet He still notices and loves us. I talked to a couple other firends too. This conference got me to a whole new level in my walk with the Lord. I found a sense of firmness in the truth of the Lord, not to say that I was doubting it, but I no longer feel like I have to appoligies to other people about what I believe in because its the truth and they need to have a chance to hear it. You guys got me so excited about evangilizing that my youth pastor and I have decided to start and E- team @ our youth group, even if only 2 people will join (I hope not). I have also decided that this kind of misnistry to teens is something that I would love to do the rest of my life. I want to make a career out of sharing my faith like you do. I have begun praying and investigating about working on the D2S misistry team either soon or ing the future. …SO STOKED TO SHARE!!!….so tired…. Oh, by the way, I’ve started reading your book, Dare to Share, AMAZING! the book is awsome, sharinig is awsome, the confrence was awsome (still is, i just can’t see it again this year) the D2S people are awsome, GOD IS AWSOME!!!!!! cuz He is (and cuz He made all this awsome stuff). i just pray that I don’t lose this, that its a new step in faith and not just a "spiritual high."

    • Greg, Thank you so much for your heart for teens, and your desire to see them come to Christ!  God Bless the Dare-2-Share team! I attended the Seattle conference with one other adult leader, and our 4 student leaders.  In all regards we were absolutley amazed at how powerfully God works through those that faithfully follow Him on the Dare-2-Share team.  All of our sturdents had an incredible expereince, and all said that they experienced God in a way like never before.  All of them have taken the next step in talking to their friends about the life changing power of Christ, and went beyond just the one person they were thinking of, and have realized the urgency in sharing the most important message in history! I myself am not a full time youth worker, just a part time volunteer, and work as a professional in the commercial construction industry.  I was personally challenged to really live for the Gospel message, and have shared the message with both my superior and another co-worker that I never had the courage to share with.  God really opened the door with them, and I have shared these stories with our students as an encouragement to them. Thank you for your hard work touring the states, and God Bless! Josh Powell

    • Hay, Wow! the conference was AMAZING! and thankfully God has opend up some doors 2 share wat all God did in my life this last weekend. I know that the drama about the 2 girls waiting for judgement really hit me hard because i was thinking. "man, how many of my friends is like that?" so because of one little drama i have been able to share my faith with some of my closest friends already, including my cousin. (most of which i did with in  the 48hr challenge too) i know that it will have an amazing impact on our youth group to, which im really excited about. Thanks again for such an amazing weekend!

I really got to know more kids in my group and loved spending time with them. God was really with our group and the devil was trying with all of his might for our group not to go cause the morning we were going to leave and than our youth leader got a kidney stone!!! we prayed and prayed. 2 hours later we left and God put his hand upon us and our leader didn’t have a lot of pain.!! God is so amazing and i love and can’t wait untill next year!! love you all.

One of my 15 yr old football (6′2 "tough Dude")guys who we all thought was a Christian had prayed yrs ago, seen change but he still made some bad choices since.  At the Pastor/tell them (when we stood up) time he came to me with 4 of my 6 students,  he held back till last then looked into my eyes and started crying, I asked him why and he said he had prayed before but it was mostly just a prayer, you see the drama had told him he better be sold out for God not just posing! (Good job D2S!)  Well he just kept crying, I hugged him and he just held on.  He asked through his tears how long does this last (his tears) for you see he is a tuff guy in his "image".  I wiped my tears and told him I was so proud of him and he grabbed me again in a full celebration hug.  When I happened to look back at the youth kids and leaders I could have just died laughing they all had their mouths handing open like baby birds looking for food, what joyful shock!  This youth during the conference and yesterday at church told anyone who will listen that he gave his heart fully to Jesus and how he feels "free"!!!Praise the Lord! AHHHH ! So we came to the conference for the 2nd year on scholarships and a prayer….. Oh Yeah God is sooooo faithful I could have done cartwheels ….I was sitting in the pastors meeting trying to not look like I needed a major nap and I got the "blam" in the back of my head, GO WIDE Kit E-TEAMS yep here we go! I had tried some e-team stuff but didn’t get it till now. Praise and glory to God and thanks to you all at D2S I am very pumped!  I still need a major nap, cuz now I am too excited to sleep! Whooho.  Thanks guys your the best! Pastor Stacy  **Just to follow up we had youth church last night and started GO WIDE…we had 19 youth show up (that’s good we are a small country church) and 8 prayed for Jesus (1 was a recommit) all the others were first timers PRAISE THE LORD! When I explained E-Teams and ask who was willing to step UP we had 10 come forward WOW! We are on fire and off running! Just so you know we weren’t going to be able to go this year because of $,  Scotty Clark helped us hook up with tickets,  we ended up buying some more and we have been rejuvenated!!!  Thanks for obeying the call

I wanted to but never could. Our Youth Group went expecting it to be better than NWW Youth Conference but was shocked. NOT only was it better It made us believe!!!!!! We had fun going door to door asking fo canned foods and maybe asking if they wanted us to pray for them. We graduated from PU a few times.  But most important of all we enjoyed the time we spent trying to spread the word of god. We also watched the Gospel Jouney twice at chuch we all memorized it, and been trying to share it with everyone. Our youth pastor started The E-team and we are trying to put it to work. It was great when I finally got to meet you the first night of Game Day! You are a great mentor and stand up for what you believe in!                                                                                         Keep Sharing ~Nicki

    • Yeah, the Seattle Dare2Share was AMAZING!!!!  It completely changed my life, and i can see it in all of my friends who went as well!!  Our youth group has been struggling for years now, and although we were only able to bring 11 people, I think this is the beginning of an awesome revolution!!  I can feel something HUGE starting in our youth group and I think our group who went to D2S is going to be the group who draws people in and starts something awesome!!  I want to tell you that the drama Friday night is what especially touched me that weekend.  As it did to everyone else in my group.  All the girls were crying, and even one of the guys, and it was just so powerful, and in those moments, my life was totally changed for the better.  I hurt so much more for my friends now, but it makes me want to DO something about it.  And this week one of my close friends is on the brink of death from attempting suicide, and it has been hard, but it has been a great opportunity for me to present the gospel to my other friends as we’re going through this together.  It is so awesome I cant even express it in words!  But anyway, yeah, that drama, it totally changed all of us, especially two of the guys in particular, they are just so on fire and completely different people, it is so amazing to see.  We were actually all talking about it afterward, and we were thinking that if we had a recording of that drama and showed it to the rest of our youth group who didnt get to go, it would just impact so many lives and completely change the attitudes of some of the people in the youth group who dont really care much at this point.  So yeah, if there’s any way to maybe get a recording of that… if you could let me know, that would be awesome!!! Thanks again SO much for last weekend!!  It was absolutely AMAZING!!  I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the chance to truly push my fear of spreading The Word aside, and learned how to talk to my friends about joining me in eternity with our Father. Thank you so much for reaching out to all those who long, and need The Word of our Lord and Savior. I look forward to next years messages, dramas, and music. May God continue to bless all those who put Dare2Share conferences together! ;)

    • Greg, I love ya brother.  The conference was so encouraging for an old youth group volunteer.  Our kids were so blessed by the teaching…. so practical and right to where our kids are these days.  Really loved the cell phone challenge.  In fact I love how you incorporated so many of our gadgets into GO FIGHT FIGHT WIN.  I called a young friend I helped out through his 4 year prison sentence.  He didn’t answer but I left the sweet GOSPEL message on the phone and the door is open again for a good talk - one we havn’t had in awhile.  Greg, I’m prayin for you right now.  I’m cryin with ya for this generation we love so very much.  Jude 2 to You.  I’m looking forward to next year.  I just cannot say enough on how the conference refreshed….I mean I went down to the front and looked back at some 4000 youth worshiping our Lord.  What a moment for the heart.  What a moment for our Lord to witness.  And you say this is goin on all over -Praise God!

    • The seattle dare2share was absoultuley AMAZING. I mean we went out in the pouring down rain and we went out and collected as though it were 90 degrees outside. That day was my birthday (I have spent my last 2 birthdays there) and this was the most amazing day ever not only was i surrounded by people who love god (and superchick was there!) but i was out making a difference sharing with people the amazing grace of god. I mean what a group of 4 to 5,000 teenagers can do is beyond words, its like no other feeling in the world at first its kind of scary but then its like a surge of adrenaline goes through you and you just know that even though you may not see a reaction in the those people right away, you planted a seed, and then the rest is between god and that person. over the last to years at dare2share its made me think that maybe god is pointing me to missionary work somewhere in the world.  The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me;        your love, O LORD, endures forever—        do not abandon the works of your hands. -Psalm 138: 8 tori barber
