This is a great example of why we should pray without ceasing and always be listening to the Spirit of God to pray God's desire into and over the lives of others. Prayer is a powerful tool and humbling gift from our Father that allows us to touch the lives of people we may never meet, sometimes with prayers that make no sense to us, prayers we may never understand. God is on the throne!

Let me just say this... God's timing is ALWAYS perfect. It is obvious that the teens that attended the Atlanta Dare2Share conference (including my own youth) needed to hear that message. Even the millions of dollars worth of damage won't make up for the priceless souls that would have been lost had the conference not taken place. Greg, you are AWESOME! I pray that your ministry would grow beyond your imagination! See you next year!!!

God is AWESOME!! The teens needed to hear what was going to be said in that meeting and because of Him they were able to! I can't imagine the number of teens who could have been hurt doing the tornado....but thanks be to God...it's not something we had to witness. It was an awesome weekend and we will be back next year and I'm believing for a busload of kids instead of a van load!

As I watched the news about the tornado of how quick and devestating it was, it reminded me of what we heard at the conference about the return of Christ and how we should be living our lives in light of his return.

Just like the tornado warning from the weather service, we have the warning that Christ is coming but we don't know exactly when and we must be prepared. In the same way must warn those around us of eternal destruction that is coming to those who have not placed their trust in Jesus Christ.

We often forget the danger of a tornado until it hits close to home and in the same way I think we forget the urgency to tell others about Jesus until death hits close to home.

Jesus gave us an early warning system and we should take it even more seriously than a tornado warning!

Another cool thing to me is the realization (that we often need) that God has everything in control, even in a possibly horrible sittuation. I pastor the youth at a church in Atlanta and was supposed to be downtown for the basketball games at the Georgia Dome the night the tornado hit. Check this out, the last game of the night has only seconds left and Alabama is at the free throw line. If they make a basket then they go to overtime, if they miss the game is over. The player thankfully makes the basket and the game goes to overtime. With 2:00 minutes left in OT part of the roof comes apart. Think about this, if that player would have missed that free-throw, thousands of people would have been heading for their cars when the tornado hit and we would have seen a catastrophe. One more reason to trust and believe in the God that parts the water, calms the sea, and makes sure games go into OT.
