The Dynamic Duo is NOT enough!

Posted on Friday 15 September 2006 by Greg @ 1:16 pm
    Filed under: Rants

Just last week Jeremy and I were sitting down talking in a food joint and he launches into one of those out-of-the-blue random rants that can only come from the mind of a hyperactive, Jesus loving five year old (Jeremy…not me!) The conversation went something like…

Jeremy:  "Hey Daddy, everyone in the world needs to hear about Jesus."

Daddy:   "You are right Jeremy. Everyone does need to hear that Jesus died for all their sins."

Jeremy:  "Daddy, YOU have got to tell them."

    Daddy:   "I know son."

Jeremy:   "No, daddy, you have got to tell them ALL (emphasis his!) about Jesus."

Daddy:   "That’s a lot of people. I don’t think I can do it by myself. I need your help. Will you help your daddy tell them all Jeremy?"

    Jeremy:  "I’ll help you daddy!"

Guess what? As motivated as this 41 year old man is to share the gospel with everyone everywhere and as bold as my 5 year old son is to preach the good news to every person on the planet, we can’t reach them all alone. We need your help.

It doesn’t matter if you’re 5 years old or 85 years old (or somewhere in between) we have got to tell EVERYBODY (emphasis mine!) about Jesus and we have got to do it now.

    P.S.  I love being a daddy!

    Signed, Greg Stier

      • I agree!!!!!  And, good job helping Jeremy understand this and making it something that is very real and normal in his life…just like the air he breathes, food, etc!!!! I have joined you and many others in this quest.  May we see continued overwhelming success in reaching others for Christ through the power of the GOSPEL!  ROMANS 1:16

      • It seems I forgot to wear my tinfoil hat today! My lesson this week: "I cant sail this ship into Tortuga all by me onesie." I love to see yet another child sold out to the Kingdom! I wonder if this is yet another glimps of what Jesus was refering to with the whole, "as a child" stuff? As a child, Jeremy sees the world as "doable". So does Christ. Even if we view it as a "Mission Impossible", Jesus reminds us to; give Him the burden, trust in Him alone, and know that all things are "Mission Possible" through Him alone. My five year old daughter is afraid of the dark, but she is not afraid to share her faith in Christ with all her friends.  So what are we scared of? Christ too, told us to tell ALL about His truth and grace. Can we too say "I’ll help you Daddy"?

      • Man, almost everytime I hear a story about Jeremy I get convicted. I tell you what though, when you’re gone with the big man upstairs, Greg, (Not that that will be any time soon) you are going to have a legacy left behind in that kid that will affect so many people! I’m sure your little girl will be right there too. Well, good luck w/ Game day! Still can’t wait! L8r. Signing off, Ashley

      • I must say that is amazing well lately I have been really wanting to tell people about christ but I was wondering if maybe you could e-mail me some verses that I could tell people about when I’m telling them about Jesus and stuff and I have a friend who is not christian and he just seems to always win the arguments when i try to tell him about christ because I’m only 13 and dont know where i could find stuff to tell him to get him to believe he is always like why and stuff so if you could maybe e-mail me some good verses that would be amazing my e-mail is A_Borges@comcast.net. thank you,  Andrew

      • AWESOME! The other day I was talking about a sad story and said, "That’s the saddest story ever." And my four year old brother looked me in the eye and said, "No! People dying without God is the saddest story ever!" What a wake up call! -Alyssa
