    Blaze Youth Ministry Conference Tour

    THE Cause is launched!

Posted on Sunday 8 November 2009 by Greg @ 7:44 am
    Filed under: Rants

It’s 7:37 am Sunday morning, the day after the first conference of The Dare 2 Share “Blaze” Tour (based on Isaiah 6:1-8.) I’m tired, groggy and blown away at how well the teenagers and the youth leaders responded to THE Cause.

There’s something about it that sets it apart, not as some new initiative or program, but as a “campaign” that’s 2,000 years old. It is the campaign of Christ to make disciples who make disciples. Our part of that vision is to mobilize teens on every high school and middle school in America who are reaching their friends and equipping them to reach their other friends for Christ.

Pray for the 5,000 teenagers, adults and youth leaders who were equipped this weekend as they seek to Live THE Cause. And check out www.dare2share.org/facebook to read some of their awesome and amazing stories.

    God rocks!

      • that’s awesome! I read alot of their stories. February seems like a long ways away. Now, I can’t wait for it in Lincoln!! :)

I told you before that I’m trying to start a ministry on my high school campus and I gave the proposal paper to the office people and the principle is supposed to be looking over it this weekend and I should hopefully get an answer sometime this week. I pray he approves it. there are like 10 teens who are in. :) tis fantastic! oh and there’s a bible study on monday mornings (which I hate mornings. especially Monday mornings) so I don’t know why they’d so no. Please pray.

“May the powers of darkness tremble as our praises rise
Until the whole world hears Lord we are calling out
Lifting up Your name for all to hear the sound
Like voices in the wilderness we’re crying out
        as the day draws near
we’ll sing until the whole world hears” – Casting Crowns

I’m trying to get my mormon friend to read Venti Jesus. She read the first few pages but wouldn’t take it with her. I’m trying to get her to take it with her and then give it back when she’s done. I hope I can get her to take it with her soon. again, please pray (:

      • Greg and All…Great job again…I was there this weekend with my 7th grade daughter, Abby (who also brought a 7th grade friend)…This was my 6th conference (I have two older daughters)…I’m convinced these conferences are vital for galvanizing their little exoskeletons from the temptations of this world, and moving them one step closer to owning their faith…One thing we tell our kids and youth group, which might help others as you minister is: once you’ve accepted Christ and are baptized by the Holy Spirit, you have to be careful about what you do from then on, because whatever you do, in response to temptation, the Holy Spirit does with you! If you experiment with sex, so does the Spirit; if you experiment with drugs, so does the Spirit…Since the Spirit is in you, and is your Counselor, He’s along for the ride, so keep Him holy! Keep up the great work, and go make some more disciples to make disciples!

      • This weekend was great. One other person from my school was there and with our two best friends we have united for THE cause at my school. Its not so easy, especially since in previous years our principle has attacked us for our desire of Jesus. My best friend, AJ, has actually been listening and now we have conversations with him every day. He’s still not quite there yet so please pray for him. My goal was to share with 30 people in 30 days and so far I’m at 3 in 3. I also figured out a way to use soccer to my advantage. Every time I end up standing next to the same person for probably 5-10 min. Sounds like a great window to me. Anyways long story short our little 2A school is getting ready for a real change. That includes students, teachers, and the whole athletic department. The four of us are ready for some amazing God working and two freshmen and two seniors are going to be the start. Oh here’s my church’s video from Dare2Share, three years ago there was 12 and this year there was almost 50, God is really doing magic. He’s so amazing!!!!

        Awesome :)

If I have this right, you’re trying to start a campus ministry. There’s something on a campus ministry site that I’ve heard about and am trying to start one at my high school. Here’s the link: http://www.yausa.com/resources/

there’s something on there about meeting with the principle. and other helpful stuff. I wrote a praposal paper that Zane helped me with and then I gave it to the office people and am supposed to hear something about it this week which is almost over. If I don’t hear anything, I haven’t figured out what I’ll do yet.

Saddly, I gotta go. blehk. :/ I’ll be glad to help you out some more. You can add me on facebook. :) just click on my name and it’ll take you there.
