Tell me a story

Posted on Wednesday 28 May 2008 by Greg @ 5:31 am
Filed under: Rants

Those of you who read Soul Fuel and want to enter the drawing for the Wii may be looking on this blog for the right place to tell your 48 hour challenge and/or Double Dare stories. Any place is fine but if it helps you can put them right here. Tell me your story of what happened when you took the Double Dare to share Jesus with all your friends.

I can’t wait to hear them!

Signed, Greg Stier

    • I said it before, but during the cell phone challenge, my friend accepted Christ over the phone. It was really neat! I haven’t been able to follow up, because her parents won’t allow her to go to church with me. she does go to her church, which is methodist. It’s been a fun and neat journey with her.

Double dare - I told an athiest about what I believe. With the help of God, your red survival book, and The Case for Christ, she has learned SO much about Christianity. Her and I have held e-mail discussions, dinner discussions, and discussions during BIOLOGY. It has been really cool. She has kept me on my toes, and caused me to dive into God’s word. I’ve started reading the Case for Christ and so has she. We are going to have another email discussion on the book in July. The Biology discussion was by far the best, we got 10 people in on it and my friend and I full out defended our faith, IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Pray for my athiest friend as she reads The Case for Christ, Pray that God will reveal himself to her. THANKS :)

    • Also, A group at my school has begun praying for non-Christians and others before school. We meet in the Commons Area (cafeteria) at our school (there are about 300 people in this area every morning). It has been really neat and God has really showed us his power through this small group of devoted Christians! I’m telling you, revival is breaking out at my high school! I can’t wait to see what God is going to do over the next few years there!

    • Hi Greg from Robert Road Baptist Church! The youth in our Church issued a Double Dare to their Church family. The Dare was to collect canned and boxed food for a neighborhood food bank. So, on Saturday, May 3rd we had 11 youth, 5 adults go door to door to collect canned and boxed food for the food bank. We reached 135 homes, left flyers about the Church at every door and also put in a plug for our up and coming Vacation Bible School! We collected over 100 cans/boxes of food. The kids were so excited by the experience, that they have decided to do a DOUBLE DARE every month. We’ll see what they come up with next! Thanks for sharing at DARE2SHARE in February (Phoenix), our kids are geared up and ready to share!

    • hey Greg I have been telling one of my friends about Christ for over 4-5 years. About one month ago he accepted Jesus as his lord and savior. I haven’t been able to get him to go to church with me though. also one of my other friends has accepted Jesus as well. In the last 3 weeks I have been teaching about evangisism. Please pray for those people that herd that message and my friends. Thanks for letting Christ work in your life. God bless you.

    • Hey, i’ve had this friend at my school for 2 and a half years. he was a really good friend of mine and i alaways wanted to tell him about God, but i never could do it. I went to D2S this year and watched the drama and it made me think that this could happen. and it made me think about if that happened. would my friend be there with me saying he believes in christ. so i started emailing him (i was too scared to talk to him at school) and he showed signs of changing. so i started to talk to him in person about it and he started changing almost right away! about a week later i asked him to go to church with me. and he said yes! he goes to church with me almost every week now! and i told him that my family is starting a church (www.oasisofgod.com) and asked if he wanted to come with us. and he said yes! it was a very exciting time. and i dont think i could of done it without the help of D2S. thanks for the help. now i know that ill have one more friend there with my saying they believe in christ!

    • Hey Greg! Wanted to give you an update on one of our students. Her name is Ellie, and while at the conference, she didn’t get very far in the cell phone challenge…she got voice mail.

Going home, she decided to work on her friend Zoe, but not much has happened there yet(that we know of)…however, since the conference, Ellie has been inviting friends, sharing the gospel and has gotten 3 of her friends to attend our youth group on a consistent basis. I’m extremely proud of her, as she’s grown so much, and I just wanted to brag that Ellie rocks.

    • Hey Greg,
I had been having discussions about Christ with a buddy who lived on my dorm floor. He was raised Catholic but was seriously considereing converting to Judiasm over the summer because he didn’t believe that Jesus was Christ. After a few discussions, I convinced him to meet once a week and read the bible with me. We met for 5 weeks then the year ended. I told him I would pray for him over the summer and encouraged him to keep reading the bible. Just last week he called me up and said he had excepted Jesus Christ as his savior!

    • Even though none of my friends accepted Christ, when I showed more boldness in my faith my Wiccan friend started talking with me again, which gives me more chances to witness to her. Please be praying for her, her name is Rikki.

    • Greg-i never really believe in jesus Christ until that moment of Dare 2 share.

When Zane told his story i was like shocked because Zane and i were like in same complete situation.
and we have sooo much alike of common which is kinda werid.
but my story was filled with alchol, drugs, killing myself and huffing all that stuff i done it.

of course some of my freinds are non-believer of jesus christ and i never really told jesus christ to them. soo this time i did during Dare 2 share. some of them were mean to me and they were like ohhh well i dont beleive in jesus Christ and stuff like that. i told them that jesus died for you. do you know which place where you died? or how do you know when you died in heaven stuff like that.

well it was hard at first because they were saying nasty comments but when i told them they were like wow!!!

they now believe in god!! which is great!!!

    • Dear Greg,
what’s up? well i’m here (duh) to tell my 48 hour story…and no it won’t take 48 hours to tell…hehe, nevermind..ok

so i ended up calling my friend Kaliegh but the funny thing is how i got her #. I don’t have cell phone so i had to use my friend Leah’s cell phone. I called my parents to get the # of my good friend Stephen and then call him and ask him for Kaliegh’s # since she had given it to him b4. so after i called Stephen and got Kaliegh’s number the devil got in my head and was like “Christina, you shouldn’t call her! she probably hates you anyways! why even try to make it worse?” and i was like “no devil, i’m calling her” so i stepped out into the hallway and i called her…it felt like it was forever before…her answering machine picked up…i left her a message, hung up, and walked back inside.

After I returned home from Lincoln Nebraska where i had gone to the conference, i went to church the next day. I saw Kaliegh there and I said, “we need to talk” and she said “ok”. the thing about her is she goes to church but she isn’t much of a christian…she smokes, and probably other stuff but i don’t get into her personal life. anyways, we sat and talked and she kept on getting distracted and i kept on stressing to her that this was imporatnat…the sad thing is i lost my G.O.S.P.E.L. thing and the booklet thingy u gave us the 2nd day, u know the one about “Rock, Paper, Scissors”? well, of course u know, u were there…anyway, i told her G. and O. and that was it…and nothing in her life (that i know of) changed…i know I planted a seed in her life but she hasn’t really changed…it kinda made the attempt seem worthless but i know it wasn;t…i have a feeling that if she rememebers what i told her she’ll think hard on it and decided to come back to Christ with a childlike faith…
thanks for having the most amazing conferences ever!
      ~CJ~
PS: i didn’t know that we were having a drawing for a Wii, but i wanna be in it..and i absolutly luv Soul Fuel! i look forward to reading it all the time!
