Greg-Hey there-Um that is a great illustration of taking up you cross and following Jesus. In church I sang this song in the chouir that went take up your cross follow Jesus, don't be ashamed to say that you know him, count the cost take up your cross follow him. There are also some bible verses that go along with that.Mark 8:34 which says And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also he said unto them whosoever will come after me,let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.(this may not be totally worded right) Then the next verse talks about whosover shall lose his life for Jesus sake and the gospels shall save it.Yes I am some bible-orineted-music-freak.The fact of the matter is christians should be growing or bearing fruit "Spritually or knowledge in Christ".Grow Grow Grow, with no growth in the christian walk in makes it harder to have a relationship with God.~Becky~(Sorry if I sounded nerdy or preachy but I am in a christian school so I tend to preach.)

Finally! Thank you so much for saying what has been on my heart and I am sure countless others. Since when did God's Word fall so short of what we need to have a relationship with Him that we have to go out and add to it bits and pieces of paganism?! I think if we all take a close look at the other part of the Bible (the OT) we will see what happened each time God's children did what we are doing now! The Bible is fully sufficient for our lives. Thank you God!

Greg! I love your son! He says the most thought-provoking things! I mean, a bunch of your blog posts are about what Jeremy said to you one day. I guess this particular topic that ur talking about is a little hard to understand for me. I guess the way I would interpret it is that we need to be straightforward when sharing our faith and not beat around the bush or compromise our faith. Keep at it Greg, you really help me grow!

hey greg..it's ironic that you say "pick up your forks and follow Jesus"...because this last weekend was Disciple Now for my youth group and our theme was "Fork in the Road"- Choose Jesus....and we did a skit on one of the nights about your Starbucks Faith that you talk about in your ministry mutiny book, 3 of my youth leaders went to the Youth Specialties conference in austin where you spoke and each received a copy of it....i felt that the skit was very effective considering how many of my own close friends live off of starbucks, so it really related to them...just wanted to let you know
