If you attended the Columbus Conference and got a chance to “shred the gnar” (aka “having a conversation about the gospel”) with a friend please tell me your story. It has been a great conference so far! I can’t wait to hear what happened to you! Click here to give me the name of your five friends and to read other stories from other teens who are shredding the gnar and to share your own story!

      • Hi Greg,

Thanks for such an amazing conference! This was my fourth, and sadly, last year because I’m a senior. D2S really changed my life for the better, and I will always be grateful to you and everyone involved.

Anyway, today was an interesting day to say the least! Our group spilt up in the neighborhood, and we didn’t get many cans, nor did we get to spread the Gospel as much as we wanted because no one really answered their doors. A few of us graduated from P.U. today too. However, we went to Subway for dinner, and there was this man sitting at a table in the restaraunt, and our youth pastor’s wife started talking to him. She started talking to him about Jesus, and then our youth pastor,Clint, came in and started talking to him more about the Gospel. He asked the man if he was 100% sure that he was going to heaven. The guy said that he was about 90% sure because he used to go to church when his second wife died. Tonight he was made 100% sure, and he also made new friends with our youth pastor and our youth group. It was so amazing to see the man’s face light up when he heard the Gospel in a new way! It was such an amazing weekend, and hopefully I can come to another D2S as a youth leader!

        Thanks!

      • Hey Greg,
First of all, dare to share in Columbus was amazing for everyone! I had really been feeling that God was going to move in me that weekend. And he did! I witnessed to my friend at the North Market surrounded by crowds of people, and although she didn’t get saved, i am going to keep trying. To be honest i got really discouraged at my first house. I asked the man if he knew where he was going if he died, and he said he was pretty sure. So i asked: “Would you like to know how you can be sure?” At that he slammed the door in my face. No one received us well at all! At first i was like: “God what are you doing, you sent us out here freezing, but brimming with energy for you, and then nothing?” It took awhile but i finally realized that we planted a seed. We learned that the average believer had to hear the gospel seven times before being saved!!! We could have been the 1st, 5th, or even the 8th, but we did help. Keep praying for my friend Brooke, and that i won’t give up on her. I will see you next year!

      • Hey Greg,
Wow all I have to say was this weekend was amazing! This was my first year at Dare2Share, and it was an expirence I will never forget. During the phone challenge I called my friend and he pretty much ingnored me the eintire conversation then hung up one me. So I can say even before we went out on the streets to show Christ love I was a graduate of P.U. So when we wen to our part of town we had people yell out their windows and tell us to go away. At this one house this woman gave us tons of cans, then asked us to pray for her son. Then we asked her to get her son and we shared the gospel. He did except Christ but his mother did. I want to thank you all for the amazing expirence, and I can’t wait til next year!!!

Just wanted to let you know that right after my friend Jenn & I left we started sherddin the gnar. She was talking to her friend about God. Jenn didn’t know what to say so she gave her friend my number. I was freaking out! I’ve never talked to anyone about that. I had no idea what to say. SO I just winged it. I told her the gospel but I didnt “puke” it on her, I explained it to her. She took it all in very well, and that same night she accepted Christ into her life! That was a big moment for me! I have never helped anyone do that! It was amazing!

      • HEY!
I just wanted to thank you for another amazing dare 2 share weekend. This was my third d2s and i already can’t wait for next year.
Getting back late Saturday night, it was all me and my friends could do to get up and go to church Sunday, but i want to summarize the evening for you. We had been planning a Superbowl party for a long time and spent all day decorating etc.. But most importantly the half time show was being replaced by something of our own creation. Still glowing from the crazy weekend, two of my good friends shared their testimonies with a group of about 150 teenagers. But this was not the most impressive aspect. My dad, being a pastor also, had put me in charge of the event and considering that this is our biggest outreach/party/thing of the year, I asked one of my technically inclined friends(BEN) to find a clip or video displaying the GOSPEL briefly. Inspired by D2S, however, and driven by the Holy Spirit, BEN went on to describe your six point acronym in it’s entirety and lead everyone in the sinners prayer.
Now, I don’t know if anyone actually accepted Christ that night, but I wanted to share the encouragement I recieved in seeing my friends step up to the plate and shred the gnar… it was definately a tough crowd. Today(Monday), one of the people attending last night, came up to me and asked me a series of three questions: “If I accept Jesus into my life do I have to change who I am?,” “If you murder, do you go to hell automatically?,” and he then continued to ask me what church and “denomination” I was a part of. Is that a slow pitch or what? Today i realized once again that me and my Christian friends are in this as a team. Ben inspired thoughts in my unsaved friend’s mind that God then led me to try and answer. Thanks for the insight and Godliness that you share with thousands of teens like me and don’t stop!

        God bless,
        Kyle

      • Greg,

Wow this weekened was amazing!!! God really challenged me to share my faith with my friends. Today was the first day at school, and I was really tired and I knew the warfare was going to be intense, but it turns out that despite feeling like I was going to fall over from fatigue, I got some amazing opportunities! I started talking to my friend about God, and I asked her if she went to church, and when she said no I invited her to my church. She said yes, and then she told me that she’s Buddhist. I’m so excited to be able to share with her, and I know that God is going to help me. Thank you so much for all the encouragment from this weekened.

      • hey greg! i was at the columbus conference and it was totally amazing! i called one of my friends and had to leave a message, but she called back and i asked her how she was and if she had been going to church lately, she said she had been. and i asked her if she had Jesus in her heart and she said she didn’t know and that she wasn’t good at this kind of stuff. i said me neither, but she told me she was praying everynight. And it WAS awkward, because i didn’t know what to say. so please pray for her, her name is Nichole. And also please pray that i will know what to say when i talk to her.
Well, thank you so much for all you’ve taught me this past weekend! and i will definantly keep shredding the gnar!

      • greg and anybody else who is reading this,
hi umm my name is danielle and i went to the dare to share you conference the last weekend of january. i called my friend jaynee and i explained to her the gospel, but she still doesn’t believe. the reason why she doesn’t is that when she was little her and her sister got in an accident and her sister had to go to the hospital. everynight jaynee would pray by her bed that God wouldn’t let her die, but then she died. that is when she stopped believing in God. she is a pretty stuborn person and i don’t know what else to say to her. i would greatly appreciate if you had any suggestions to help me make her believe in God. if you could comment this post with suggestions i would greatly appreciate it. thank you!
