PTL in ATL

Posted on Friday 7 March 2008 by Greg @ 7:09 am
Filed under: Rants

Right now I’m praising the Lord to be in Atlanta. Five years ago a major blizzard hit Colorado (2 feet of snow in 24 hours) and we were forced to have most of our team drive the treacherous drive from Denver to Georgia (the airport was shut down from Tuesday through part of the day on Friday). Two Suburbans full of Dare2shareites drove non stop for 28 hours or so to make it here on time. They made it with an hour to spare before doors opened.

Whew!!!

We are expecting close to 6,000 teenagers tonight at the World Congress Center in downtown ATL. It should be great.

Pray with me that there is a blizzard of God’s love that encompasses these teenagers and a outpouring of his power in and through the Dare 2 Share team as we pour into these teenagers for a weekend. Interceed to God with me for God to do a spectacular work for his kingdom this weekend!

Signed, Greg Stier

    • There is a blizzard where I am now. I don’t know if any of you guys have seen the weather channel lately, but there is a bunch of snow, high winds, and bad visibility. Plus I am into theater and my opening night was Friday. I also had a show today, and I have one tomorrow. But the first show was canceled b/c of the weather. I was so disappointed! But I knew it was God’s will. I am even more disappointed now b/c my show is canceled for today too! I had some of my friends from a different show I was in, High School Musical, coming tonight too! So please pray for me that the weather will settle down so I can have a show tomorrow. I will be praying for Greg, and the rest of the Dare2Share team. (Sorry, but I don’t know everybody else’s names!)

      God Bless,
      KT

    • I was in Atlanta this weekend. It was amazing! Thank you so much Greg, Zane, Derwin, and all the Dare2Share crew! It was helpful to me to teach me how to share my faith. I bought the Dare2Share guide and the You’re Next books- I can’t wait to read them! And the music was absolutely incredible! I love engaging in worship and Lincoln Brewster’s music was awesome! Thank you guys again sooooo much! It was my first Dare2Share conference and I really want to come back next year. Oh, by the way Greg, your son is so cute! I loved the clips he was in and especially enjoyed hearing the story about him saying “Yeah Right” in his brain! Thanks again!

    • hey
i was in Atlanta this weekend, and let me just say GOD was definitely there. I learned that you have to forgive yourself for the things you have done in your past, and that you can’t hold a grudge toward yourself when all you need to do is put all your faith and trust in Jesus Christ and with time HE WILL HEAL YOU!!! God is good, and i have come to learn that he has a future and a plan for MY LIFE, and i intend to find out what that is. I just wanted to say THANK YOU GUYS FOR COMING UP WITH DARE 2 SHARE AND SHARING YOUR FAITH AND TESTIMONY WITH US, BECAUSE IT HELPED ME ALOT AND IM PRAYING THAT IT WILL HELP SOMEONE ELSE WHO NEEDS IT LIKE I DID!! i love you guys because of JESUS!!! =] HOPE TO SEE YA’LL NEXT YEAR!!

    • Yes, dear Angel, Jesus is the Source of living water, which is HIS everlasting love (John 4:10). Within the hearts of our souls, HIS love becomes an ever-renewing spring (John 4:14) that makes us able to love all of our neighbors including those who would do us harm (Matthew 5:44).

Most assuredly, without doubt, I know HIM to be kind, just, and right (Jeremiah 9:24)

HE calls us HIS brethren though we are so unworthy as sinners (Matthew 12:50).

This is why HIS love covers a multitude of sins:

    • Hi Guys,
Myself and five counselors and eighteen youth returned home today and had revival tonight at church. Also, we went out and “covered” our territory as assigned. The only problem was we like to have never found our mission St. It was 20 miles out and we did not get there until 5:30 PM. We hit a few houses and came across this wonderful lady called “Leslie.” She received us into her home, gave us some can food and I told her… “Make my day and tell me you know Jesus Christ as your Savior!” She said she had been vasilating but our coming by comfirmed her commitment to Christ. We had prayer with her and left her rejoicing in tears and we rejoicing all the way back to the center (getting lost again) and getting there in time for the eardrum smashing group. Thanks guys for a great weekend! To God be the glory!

    • First, Thank you everyone who made D2S possible this weekend. This was my first D2S and I loved it! The thing that spoke to me the most was the cell phone challenge. Greg, you weren’t kidding when you said this could be the most important call of our life - and mine was. It was also the hardest. I knew going into D2S that we would have to take this challenge, I was nervous. I prayed for help before I dialed, also to know who to call. I called my friend that is methodist and is actively involved in youth. I wasn’t sure if she was saved. I started talking to her and she said she didn’t know if she was going to heaven and that she didn’t even know what getting saved was. however, after I shared the GOSPEL with her, she knew she wanted to be saved. I called my Sunday school teacher over, and put my friend on speaker, right then and there over the phone she got saved!!! I plan to follow up with her on Tuesday when we go back to school. I have also planned out my double dare and hope to start tomorrow. I’ll let you know how that goes. I guess that’s all for now.

    • Our Youth Group attended Dare 2 Share in Atlanta. I would like to share what happened during the cell-phone challenge. All of our youth called people and shared the gospel with them. One of our youth came to me and said that he had someone on the phone that wanted to receive Jesus as her Lord and Savior. He said he didn’t know what to do and handed the phone to me. I talked to “Whitney” and guided her through the steps of salvation. To make a long story short, Whitney got saved over the phone! We left Atlanta early Sunday morning so we could get back to North Carolina by our 11:00 service. We went by and picked Whitney up for church where she made her profession of faith and joined the Church. She will be baptized in 3 weeks!!!
