Preaching at Northern Hills

Posted on Saturday 16 August 2008 by Greg @ 6:19 pm
Filed under: Rants

This weekend I’ll be preaching at my “new” home church Northern Hills Christian Church. Debbie and I have been going here since February or so and we love it. Although Grace Church will always be close to my heart we felt it was time to have a fresh start somewhere else. After ten years as preaching pastor at Grace and almost nine years going as a church member we thought it might be a good time to go somewhere that I hadn’t been on staff as one of the founding pastors. At Northern Hills I’m not the former pastor. I’m just the “Dare 2 Share guy” who preaches from time to time.

Tomorrow I’ll be preaching on “Heaven, hell and everything in between” based on Daniel 12:2-4. Please pray that God does a mighty work in the hearts of the people at this exciting church!

Signed, Greg Stier

    • Nine years is an amazing length of time for a former pastor to continue attending after stepping down regardless of the circumstances good or bad. I think that says alot about you AND those at Grace Church.

I know it’s Monday but I’ll pray that your message continues to work in the lives of those who heard it and that the transition continues to go according to God’s will.

    • Northern Hills is and has been our family’s church home for more than five years now and we had the great fortune to receive the Lord’s message yesterday. It is a message that we have heard from time to time, but not in Greg Stier style. Whoa! I was humbled and convicted on many occasions yesterday. I have NEVER heard the message in the way it sunk into my heart and soul yesterday. Mind blowing and a lot of good conversation resulted yesterday afternoon as we had dinner with our family. We at NHCC are so incredibly blessed to have you teaching us. The Lord spoke to me in a HUGE way through you yesterday and for that, I am so grateful!

    • Greg,

Most of the Christian churches in our area (Ohio) believe the false gospel that you must be baptized to be saved, not by faith in Christ alone.

I thought a “Christian” church was really a Church of Christ (baptism for salvation), but maybe that’s an Ohio thing.

      Curious, thanks!

    • Jay, yeah, Northern Hills is a rebel church. They are faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing else. It’s grace all the way at NHCC!
