Invincible Youth Ministry Conference Tour

Off to Salt Lake City

Posted on Tuesday 1 July 2008 by Greg @ 10:33 am
Filed under: Rants

Please pray for me as I head off to Salt Lake for the National Evangelical Free Church Student Conference. I went to this as an attendee back when I was dating my wife and thought to myself, “Self, I’d like to speak at this someday.” It’s hard to believe that twentysomething years later that I’m about to!

Pray that God does something big in the hearts and souls of the students who attend. My goal is that they take the double dare and share Jesus with EVERYONE in their social network (in God’s timing, in God’s power and with God’s love).

And who knows? Maybe I’ll meet a few Mormons to chat with along the way.

Temple Square here I come.

Signed, Greg Stier

    • Prayin’, Greg.
Just had an idea, buddy. If you’re going to be near the Salt Lake Hilton at 255 South West Temple, please e-mail me. That’s the hotel I stayed at last September when I had a pretty interesting conversation with an LDS woman who worked there as a concierge. Be kinda cool and freaky if you are actually staying there and if she still works there…
      Blessings, my brother. - Will

    • Hey Greg,
Attended our first D2S event in Chicago in April, hook, line and sinker dude!!! We came back and partnered with an E-Free church just down the road from us and are in the process of teaching the GOSPEL JOURNEY with them, for the purpose of reaching our own community for Christ. They are at the conference right now you are speaking for. Pretty Awesome!!!!! The name of the church is Calvary Bible Church and the Youth pastors name is Phill Howell. I know they are very excited to hear you and be blessed.
      Praying for you,
      Bob Penley RVCF

    • Greg,

I didn’t get a chance to tell you how great of a job you did in SLC this Thursday. The students were truly challenged to share Christ with your friend. I pray God’s continued blessing on your ministry.

    • Hey Greg,
I just wanted to thank you for your words at Challenge. I was stoked to hear that you were one of the speakers after being at dare 2 share for 2 years. It spoke to my heart again. so, thanks! i also wanted to tell you a story. At D2S last Feb. my youth group took on the cell phone challenge. We called a friend (Danny) who was really into drugs and getting drunk on the weekends, and started talking to him about God (I was shaking!). He was kind of interested, and we convinced him to come to youth group that following Monday so he could see what it was all about. It took us having a pizza night to get him to come, but he came and he loved it! (not just for the pizza) He saw that we were real and we were worshiping something real. It wasnt just boring old church that he thinks is a waste of time. He kept coming, but he still didnt really get the concept of who God is or what He did. So, i decided to bring him to camp with me the second week in June. He was excited and ready to go. on the third day of camp we had an alter call, and he went up and gave his life to christ! i was sobbing and so just so overly proud of him. so, thank you for giving us the challenge! who knows what he would being doing now if we wouldnt have had the courage to call or talk to him. See you at D2S in Feb.
will be praying for preperation of the conferance!

    • It was awesome to finally see you speak! And it was also an honor to meet you and talk to you in starbucks that morning. I finally remebered the books I read back in the day: battlezone and last chance. It was too early in the morning to remember ;) I also bought and read Venti Jesus Please like you suggested and I am hoping I can get some of my friends to read it. I want to make sure I tell all my friends about Christ. I called one of my friends on the way home from challenge and left a message (only to find out today she never got the message. until now I just talked to her on facebook) just telling her about your book and I really wanted her to read it. I guess that was sorta my double dare (pretty lame I guess) but for some reason God put it on my heart to call her. Like it was preparing my heart.
Getting to talk to you and see you speak has really pumped me up. Me and another kid went and signed up for a sharing ministry that day. God also put this on my heart to do this as a part of my double dare. We ended up putting packets on people’s doors but I know that God used us. Its going to take a day at a time and lots of prayer. Please pray for me that God would give me courage to step out and the words to speak. I am a chicken.
My whole youth group and I appreciate you and your ministry with all you do, you need to bring D2D to Kansas City! We loved your stories and so now we called the bathrooms neighborhoods, and the stalls houses, and so on. haha great job Greg! Keep it up!
      God Bless
      Melody
