Praise be to GOD.

Scott,

I used to be suicidal as well. I had a ruff four years in high school. My brother pased away when I was only 13. My family fell apart after that. A year after my brother passed away, a friend of his was killed in a car crash. Then the next year my classmate was killed when 6 feet of dirt caved in on her. My senior year in high schoolone of my brothers friendskilled himself. I ended up accepting Christ four years after Andy (my brother) died. But I was still having problems. After I moved to lincoln I thought everything was going to be great. I was wrong. I was raped 3 times. I thought no one loved me even thought I had heard the gospel Journey. It was not until my former friend kicked me out of her apt for preaching the gospel at her. My friend had gotten into a get rich quick plan, and I wanted no part of it.

I knew God wanted me to use what I had been through for His glory, so I tried to get into a Christian college. I didn't get in. So I started helping with AWANA. I lead the Truth and Training group,(5th &6th grade),and the Journey 24/7 group(High school).I also went though the program myself as a leader. Now I am getting ready to go to Grace University in youth ministry.

I pray that your pre-teen will some day relize she is loved by a God who can help her through anything. I also pray that she can someday use what she has been through for His glory.

Greg - I figure this is a good place to find prayer warriors. My wife and mother-in-law just took a pre-teen girl who is very close to my family to the emergency room tonight to get her admitted to a psyche ward. She is very suicidal because her [blank] dad has repeatedly told her she is a mistake and is poor because of her, and her mother is totally clueless to stop the mental abuse of her ex-husband, and is mentally abusive herself. Last night she was playing with scissors to cut herself and tonight she went outside to stand in the middle of a severe thunderstorm, hoping she'd get hit by lightening. She's utterly convinced the world would be better off without her and that no one loves her.

We had just arrived at the point where we needed to involve pastor and a professional counselor, but she was even worse off than we thought.

My wife has talked extensively to her about Jesus (the girl is being raised Christian) and how she has a place in His heart, but she doesn't believe it.

So, please pray that God will break through her barriers and see that she really is loved, and is no mistake -- but is her ultimate salvation. Also pray that her cry for attention is fully understood and answered by her mother, who MUST help her.
