Invincible Youth Ministry Conference Tour

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of a Degree

Posted on Tuesday 12 February 2008 by Greg @ 9:49 pm
Filed under: Rants

I preach at my old school, Liberty University, tomorrow. Pray that God does a mighty work in the student body. I’m busting out the Rebels, Posers, Losers talk on them from the Revolution Tour (David and Goliath). My challenge to them will be to choose to lose their lives so that, in Christ, they can rediscover real life! Pray that it is delivered in the power of the Spirit and effectively unleashes the full strength of God’s truth into their souls.

Then I get the privilege of teaching two youth ministry classes and spending some time talking to the youth ministry department about Deep and Wide Youth Ministry. I’m hoping they like it enough to start training it to their students!

Pray! Pray! Pray!

Signed, Greg Stier

    • Hey Greg, this might sound kind of weird, but could add a “How To Share Your Faith With..” for Amish? I’ve got some Amish neighbors and I don’t have a clue what they actually believe.

      Thanks!

excited you are in town just wish I knew it ahead of time. We have been in touch with Jeremy and plan on rolling our deep-n-wide to our youth next month. I live an hour or so away from Liberty and would’ve invited you to meet our senior pastor and talk more about deep-n-wide.
      maybe next year.

    • I heard your message today 2/13 at Liberty’s Convocation. I wanted to give you some feedback. For the first 15 minutes I couldn’t get into what you were saying, because it was all about the public restrooms and your friend’s small head. It was honestly distracting, but after you went on about that I was able to hear a great message filled with very helpful scriptures that were not taken out of context like so many speakers tend to do in order to fit the point they want to make. You didn’t do that though and I wanted to say thank you. Maybe in the future if you speak on the Rebels, Posers, Losers again you can skip the restroom talk and get straight to the pure gospel, because that is what people need. When you told us to pick a side and you didn’t dance around the life we have in Christ that was your strongest moment. So, thanks again Greg. I think the Spirit will work in those who really heard the message.

    • Greg,

My husband, Jerry, and I were the two who came up to see you after you spoke at Liberty and we had just been to St. Louis last weekend and were visiting Liberty this week. I wanted to thank you again for your sermon at convo. I always enjoy your stories. Laughing is sometimes a lost art in ministry and sermons, you know? I always like someone better after they’ve made me laugh til it hurts! Thank you for not being afraid to be yourself and be funny while you speak.

Thank you much more though for not compromising the Gospel message. THANK YOU SO MUCH for being faithful to God, and devoting your ministry to encouraging teens to share their faith. Jerry and I have seen our lives changed because of D2S, and we’ve seen the lives of our youth changed as well. When I called my dad from D2S in St. Louis, my stomach hurt so bad I thought I would be sick! But I knew my fear of sharing Christ with my dad was not nearly as great as my fear of his eternal destination. After I did it, I felt so much power from the Holy Spirit, my heart was set on fire in a brand new way. I am continuing to pray that I will one day see my father surrender to Christ and be baptized and know my dad will spend eternity with Our Father!

Looking forward to hearing you speak again, until then we will be praying for you!

in the Love of a Big God,

    • Greg,
I was at the D2S conference in St.Louis. Ever since then i havent been able to stop talking about it to my friends. I think im driving them crazy!!! When you told us to call a friend I called my Bff because i wasnt sure if she was with Christ. I called her and i found out that she was. The next time i saw her we were talking about it and she’s started to get upset because her family doesn’t get to go to church that often. Her Dad works every day of the week except for sunday so they try to make that a family day. She’s kind of afraid to confront her parents though. If you could please try to keep her in your prays.
I look up to you because you have dedicated your life to going to these conferences all over the united states. i would not be able to do that!!!! i will keep you in my prayers!!!!

      Through Christ,
      Mikayla
