    It’s snowing!

Posted on Saturday 10 May 2008 by Greg @ 7:02 am
    Filed under: Rants

I got up early this morning to go do a little writing and was shocked to see that it’s snowing pretty hard! Probably four inches has fallen so far. It shows no signs of abating. Most of this week I’ve been up here in Breckenridge trying to finish a book that is under strict deadline. The weather has been pretty good most of the week but all of that changed this morning.

Is this the front end of a Spring blizzard? Will the sun shock us and come out later this afternoon and melt it all? You never know in Colorado. The weather is bi-polar here.

There’s something about writing a book in a snowstorm that feels right. It conjures up memories of campfires, hot chocolate and The Shining, a movie that terrified me as a teenager.

On second thought before I continue writing I’m going to make sure the front door is bolted and the axe is locked up. After all all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Okay that movie seriously freaked me out. Yet, for some unknown reasong, I own it. I haven’t watched it since, but I feel like if I own a copy then there is one less person in the world who could own it and get seriously twisted because of it.

      • It snowed up here in Wyoming on Saturday too. It was just a flurry, but I still don’t like snow in May. I remember when it snowed a foot in June in 2005. I hope that it doesn’t stay cold for very long this year.

      • Funny Story:

When my husband and I were on our honeymoon in Estes Park, they were remaking The Shining at the Stanley, and we were walking on the main drag there and I saw STEPHEN KING….. True Story!

I’ve never seen the movie, I’m a big chicken!

Hope the book is going well!

      • true, but it was when Jack had all work and no God that left Jack with a lost soul. (Casting Crowns lyrics – “American Dream”) haha, Enjoy the snow for me, I live in Georgia and we probably got 4 inches all year long. I love Colorado, I think the weather is such an amazing mystery (WOW, that sounded really corny. haha) I want to move to Colorado SO bad, just so I could snowboard all day long!!!!!!!!
