Praise be to God. This strategy is the reason I became the youth leader for New Hope here in Show Low AZ.
We call ourselves Bridge Builders for Christ. We are building that bridge to close the gap of high school to the middle age group in our church. So far God is doing a wonderful job through our ministries. One of them is through praise and worship. I,m now the band leader as well as the youth leader. Great concept Greg, great work for the Lord. All things are possible with God. jim

Hey Greg, I really wanted to send you a message about this, but I didn’t see anywhere on here that had a place where I could so i decided to comment instead.
I’ve been reading your book “You’re Next” my youth pastor is having me about about 8 or 9 other students in my youth group read it. I read the first 10 chapters in about 2 or 3 days, which is a lot for me because I’m not that big of a book reader. What caught me by surprise was how much I really studied it. Not just read it, but studied it. I’ve learned a lot.
I got to chapter 19 “The Phone Call From Hell” and I started reading, and I was in shock, because I’ve had an experience similar to that. I’d really like to talk to you about it, and tell you my story. But I’d rather not put it in here for everyone to read. I don’t know how I could. So maybe just comment me back and we can figure something out because I’d really like to talk to you about this. It scared me to death. And I had no idea what to do, so I’d just really like to talk to you about it. Hope to hear from you soon. You’re an amazing speaker, and an amazing writer and i’m really enjoying your book!

Way to go Greg! Your dream of unleashing an army of teenagers for Christ is definately a huge one, but I think it’s achieveable, and I AM READY TO FIGHT! I’m tired of people who say they’re Christians and don’t act like it, or chicken out as soon as they are asked to talk about their faith. We need to stand! We need to live our life with God at the center of our lives constantly. We need to have His fire in our eyes, and the same love He had for us in our hearts. We need to stop treating Christianity as just another religion, and treating it as a lifestyle, because that’s what it is. The church needs to do it’s job as being the Body of Christ, and it’s arms needs to start reaching. We need to Love the same way Jesus did, willing to die for us, because He loved us!
I’m ready, I’m willing to die for what I believe, because it’s worth dying for! And it’s not going to be easy, but God never said it would be easy, He just said it would be worth it!

And it’s like you’ve said, Greg, IT’s THE GREAT COMMISSION, NOT THE GOOD SUGGESTION!

That sounds good. I like the aggressive tactic. The way I see it, if we do what we’ve always done, we’ll always get what we’ve always got. So let’s do the unexpected and set a example for everyone who’s watching what we as a generation do.

Off topic, but the title of this post made me think of a line from John Reuben’s “Good Evening”: “I was told not to be so offensive, man was I offended!”.

Greg count me in as well. For too long I think the church has gotten away from being a hospital for the sick and instead we have become a “safe haven” for the saved. I just don’t see how that model is Biblical. I echo Will’s words exactly. I get so tired of people wanting something “safe.” Since when has sharing the Gospel ever been safe and non-confrontational? Anytime you share the Gospel you’re confronting sinners of their sin through the power of our God. How is that NOT offensive?

I’m in man. Lets storm the gates of hell together.
