Invincible Youth Ministry Conference Tour

I LOVE my job!

Posted on Tuesday 27 March 2007 by Greg @ 7:58 pm
Filed under: Rants

Today I had the privilege of equipping around one hundred youth leaders in Fort Collins, Colorado. I was promoting the upcoming Survive Tour for Dare 2 Share and doing a training called "Youth Ministry Exposed." What a great time of encouragement, openness and honesty about the perils, pains and power of youth ministry. My prayer was that the youth leaders who attended left refreshed and re-energized for the mission that lies before them.

I love my job. I really do. To be involved in impacting the lives of youth leaders is an amazing privilege. My hope is to come along side them and give them a few tools and a whole lot of hope as they reach out to teenagers with the love of Jesus Christ.

"Thank you Lord for allowing me the honor of being able to serve your servants and impact those who impact these precious teenagers. Be with them. Encourage and empower them. Keep their eyes riveted to you as they navigate the exciting, dangerous, sometimes monotonous and always rewarding world of youth ministry. I praise you God for giving me the privilege of ministering to teens and those who minister to them."

Signed, Greg Stier

    • Dear Greg,       I am an alumni to D2S, this past weekend is no exception. I was at the Atlanta conference. What makes what you said about loving your job so timely, is that this evening, a young lady who was a part of our youth group, even a part of our family, called to ask for guidance. She has chosen to walk with the world, not the Lord, and the consequences of her decision are pressing down on her. While this saddens me deeply, what touches me is that despite the years that have past, despite what has happened between her and my family that have caused us to part ways, she still chooses to call our home and ask for advice. I am honored to be a part of these young peoples’ lives, I am humbled when God uses them to remind me that it is not me, but Christ within me that makes the difference.Thank God for using me! Thank God for using you, Greg, for He has truly made a difference through you and the D2S ministry. God Bless! Scott

    • I am so happy you love your job like you do, Greg. I am also happy that there are youth leaders who take the time to reach out to all of us arrogant, stubborn, I-don’t-need-to-listen-to-nobody, teens. We need God just as much as adults, which is why I am so glad for D2S that focuses on teenagers. Without them alot of teens wouldn’t even think about spreading their faith or even caring about God. So thanx again Youth Leaders! God is using you guys in amazing ways and your reward will be amazing when we go to our "real" home. L8r. Signing off, Ashley

    • Thank you so much for what you do!! The conference in Atlanta was just what our group needed. I had a grandmother call me the night before we left asking questions about  what the students would be doing and learning. She told me that her granddaughter had been saved and baptized but was not living a faith-filled life. After the dramaat the conference the lady’s granddaughter hugged my husband with tears in her eyes and said "I believe" It turns out she had followed her cousin to altar, repeated a prayer and was baptized, not because of putting her faith in Christ, but because her cousin told her "hey, lets go down there". The kids came home so excited and fired that some of the parents have already said they want to go next year!
