Has it been that long? Sometimes I think calling the church "The Church" would have been great but Grace turned out alright I suppose.

I remember being there that first Sunday morning and not having to dress up. And it was still the funnest church I'd ever been to or involved with. Hoping I was up to date on where we were meeting and remembering it but finding out I wasn't... several times... Making sure I brought a change of clothes to play ball after the service...

How many pastors dance like Michael Jackson, imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger... let alone give the gospel with any degree of clarity?

And alot of churches start next to a cemetary but right outside the doors of Grace was a haunted swamp/house/whatever...

And the youth meetings being held in an ancient barn that was used AS the haunted house...

So many good memories.

Thanks...by the way...this does work for congregations of all ages...though you have to be a little lenient for some of the "seasoned citizens" for whom getting down on their knees just might be permanent...

Greg...off topic, but a Blog request nonetheless...

At D2S Denver, you did a prayer routine that I believe you called "Calling Down The Rain" based on the model prayer/Lord's prayer...could you blog the step-by-step "how-to" of that at some point?

We've tried it at our church a few times and seemed to have very good results with it...but sometimes memory gets hazy so a reminder would be appreciated!

From one former roofer to another...congratulations on where the church has come from!

Which one is harder, roofing or preaching? Tie...you sweat just as much at either endeavour, though the payoff from preaching is a little more on the eternal (and usually, cooler) side.

Keep up the good work, Grace Church!

That's cool Daniel. It's hard to believe it's been so long. Hey, I trusted in Christ when I was eight. Grandma Faye wrote it down in my little red Bible. Fortunately, I still have it!

Thank you Greg and Rick for your obedience to God's calling to share His Gospel! I remember many years ago in Brad Holder's living room receiving Christ's forgiveness. You gave me a card with the date written on it, and told me to remember that date because it was an important day (truly!). I lost the card, unfortunately. (That's what happens when you're 8).Continue on in your good work and obedience.

God bless,
Daniel

Thank God you WERE NOT seminary trained, Greg! So many (definitely not all) seminary grads I know practice what the Word would call 'whacked' (I think that term is in the 21st Century Version-or not) theology. Give me guys like Zane or Joseph Rojas from Seventh Day Slumber-guys who are REAL!!
Lovin' ya, buddy!

This is a very cool post Greg! The fact that you and your friend stepped up and started a church just in a living room with 23, grew to an amazing 2,500 shows the power of the Holy Spirit working through obedient men.
This just seems to run with the verse that has been on my heart this whole week.

Galations 6:9- Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Continue your great work and look forward to seeing you and Zane this next weekend in Seattle.
