I think it's a shame that any Christian would feel like he has to apologize for bringing up environmental concern, even in an analogy. And though the analogies used here are very good ones, it's high time for Christians to get to the forefront of cleaning up and caring for creation. The language of environmentalism needs to be something we use for more than just spiritual analogies. We have been a big part of the problem for far too long. The Bible in no way presents the idea that this earth is just an incubation place for human souls headed for eternity, so it doesn't matter what we do with our surroundings, just so long as we get people saved and keep our own spiritual selves on the straight and narrow. We have been given a responsibility, and whether we use and abuse, or care for and protect, what God has made, is a spiritual issue.

I'm working at a Christian Camp this summer as a counselor and we're making sure the campers leave not panicked or ignorant, but informed! We don't do a lot, but we do compost and use as many compostable products as possible. There's a composting toilet as well, but I won't go into any detail with that!
