Feedback on the D2S Uncensored Podcasts

Posted on Friday 16 May 2008 by Greg @ 2:21 pm
Filed under: Rants

We are trying to solicit some input on the Dare 2 Share Uncensored Podcasts. We have been doing these for about a year now and are wondering what you think of them. Here’s a few questions that we’d like to ask you:

-Are you watching them? (some, none, most, all)

-How important is the “title” of the podcast to you?

-Do they minister to you?

-Do they equip you?

-How could they be improved?

-Would you like to be able to comment on each talk after it is given?

-Would you recommend them to a friend to watch?

If you haven’t seen a podcast yet click here and check the latest one out. Please give us your feedback and help us spread the word to others about this opportunity to share the message of Jesus and mission of Jesus!

Signed, Greg Stier

    • The Dare2Share Uncensored Podcasts are a tool I use weekly for my own spiritual growth. They have also equipped me to serve in the ministry with passion, love, determination, and a humble heart. You asked; “would you recommend them to a friend to watch?” My answer: YES!
In regards to this weeks podcast; it was awesome, and brought me to my knees in prayer crying out “Lord, I need to armor up.” Keep up the podcasts. They are making a difference in my life and ministry.

    • -Are you watching them? (some, none, most, all)

Watching them, no. Listening to them, yes. I recently started listening to them, after Greg spoke at my church in MN. I enjoy them immensely.

-How important is the “title” of the podcast to you?

Not nearly as important as the content.

      -Do they minister to you?

      Yes.

      -Do they equip you?

      Very much so.

      -How could they be improved?

      Not sure.

-Would you like to be able to comment on each talk after it is given?

It would be nice, I guess.

-Would you recommend them to a friend to watch?

Yes. I’m a leader of a Christian online ministry, and I have recommend them to several people in the group.

    • Hello Greg! Here are my answers:

      1. Are you watching them? (some, none, most, all)
      - I just watched my first one today! It was Armor Up.

      2. How important is the “title” of the podcast to you?
      - Not the most important thing to me, but if I think of the titles it helps me remember the message from that podcast.

      3. Do they minister to you?
      - Yes, very much so! It’s like a 30 minute D2S at home in your pjs!

      4. Do they equip you?
      - Yes.

      5. How could they be improved?
      - If they all are as long as Armor Up then maybe make some of them shorter.

      6. Would you like to be able to comment on each talk after it is given?
      - I would love that!

      7. Would you recommend them to a friend to watch?
      - Maybe. They are kind of long, which I personally don’t mind so much but others might. I’ll probably forward this to a friend.

      Thanks for doing these podcasts!

      Amber from OHIO! :)

    • Greg - this isn’t feedback on D2S Uncensored (although they are awesome…seriously).

We are going through the ‘You’re Next’ stuff in our HS-SS and I’ve noticed that some of the chapters are outta whack in the leaders guide. Like half of the weeks chapter is in the right place but then you gotta flip through the book to find the rest of it.

I’m sure someone has told you guys this by now and if not…well it must not bother them. :)

-Would you like to be able to comment on each talk after it is given?
Yah that would be pretty cool.
-Would you recommend them to a friend to watch?
Yes..except I don’t know how interested they would be in it.(most are spaztic teens like me)
PS: I went to a Rebecca ST James concert and it was amazing!

    • Hey Greg!!!
thanks for asking I think your podcasts our awsome!!!! yes the title is important 2 me,cause if I need help in some area in my life or to help my friends I look and see which ones I can most relate to, or really need help on. I don’t exactly know who your talking to when your in the pulpit, assuming it’s your co-workers though.I think it’s really cool though!!! another idea I think would be cool is to have one of the conferences be live on the internet, just a thought, ttyl.

    • Well, we just now got internet where I can watch them. So I haven’t seen many of them. But what I have seen I love! There was one that my friend and I watched and it was great. It was the one about faith and works. The concept of getting “heavenly patches” was really cool to me. I will definitely keep watching them. I think it would be cool to be able to comment after them and maybe just be able to share how it spoke to us and stuff. They are great and appreciate all the work that goes into them and all the other d2s things. I’m gonna try and go back and watch all of the podcasts. One thing I like and would recommend to keep would be the archives. I like how you can go back and watch the old ones. Keep up the good work!

    • I’ve only watched a few I’ll confess. From what I’ve seen, they’re very good. Straight foreward and informative. Actually, sometimes I prefer them over the sermons at my church…I prefer many things over those…anyway. I would like to inquire of the title’s purpose. Why it’s called what it’s called; before make any judgments. I know you’re focusing a whole lot more on spiritual warfare this year with Invincible coming up, so stay strong and obedient…not that you wouldn’t.
God Bless you Greg and God’s ministry through you and D2S.

    • 1) Listen to most of the podcasts every week.

      2) Titles are not that important

      3)They are equipping

      4) Most of the podcasts seem to be addressed to just the D2S staff, which makes sense, because that is your chapel, but a lot of the times you throw a “for those who may be listening” bone than seems more “by the way” and not intentional. I would suggest be more intentional including us….

      5) I don’t necessarily need to comment on podcasts (that’s what blogs are for ;-)

6)I do reccomend this to other youth workers (not just the podcast, but D2S altogether!)

    • I listen to 2-3 of them on my walk to work i also walk to and from work 3-4 times a week.

the title could be spectacular but if the message isn’t good then it wont matter I don’t listen to them for the title i listen to them for the information in the teachings.

yes they equip me or i should say they further my understanding of the word

improvements, i would like more of them but thats hard to work on. esp with running d2s. and comments id rather ask questions after each one i can always think of something else i an wondering about in the bible.

I’ve used this to reach friends who think church is boring and use these as a in between if i cant get them to go to church with me.

well I will stop rambling. hope it helps.

    • Hi Greg!!
      MY response to your questions:

-Are you watching them? (some, none, most, all)

Some of them … it takes me a while to download them so often I will have them downloading all day while at work and then I watch them when I can.

-How important is the “title” of the podcast to you?

It helps me to determine whether I have watched that specific podcast yet… but no, how it is phrased doesn’t matter. I would watch it if it was listed as #1, #1.5 or “How to Get Teens to Listen”.

      -Do they minister to you?
YES! There are times where I am just so worn down on the “giving” aspect of ministry that I forget to “recieve” for myself and my faith journey. These podcasts give me insight, tools and wisdom to continue to grow in my own faith as well.

      -Do they equip you?
      YES! YES! YES!

      -How could they be improved?
MORE? LOL… if that were possible. I do know there are limits to how much time you can spend podcasting in a day. I am sure you have other things to do and I wouldn’t want little camera people following you everywhere, everyday. There are limits…

-Would you like to be able to comment on each talk after it is given?
Oooo… YES! Maybe the speaker or speakers could blog back and forth with comments too? I do like the interactive aspect of the blog. Combined with the podcast it would be a double-bonus!

-Would you recommend them to a friend to watch?

      Yes — already have!

    • HEY!

I love the podcasts! I think they’re amazing!

I was thinking though, that instead of a comment thing for each one, maybe there could be a special forum place where people could discuss what was said, and maybe you could visit from time to time and kick our butts if we’re taking the wrong idea from what was said in the podcast, or something.

About the title.. I think they’re pretty solid. The only thing I would sugest is maybe having a little blurb on what its about right under, or something.

      Hope this helps!

      Yes

Yes. Many great discussions with family/friends have sprung from these…esp from the one about James 2

Thanks for putting these out :)

    • I LOVE the podcast! Here are my comments:

-Are you watching them? (some, none, most, all)
I started watching them after Dare 2 Share Chicago 2008 and have already watched just about half of them, I do about 2-3 per week.

-How important is the “title” of the podcast to you?
It helps to identify podcasts that might relate to what I’m encountering in my life at the time, or one’s I need to listen to in order to help with my ministry. It also helps me to quickly locate and recall the message if I need to share it with someone else.

      -Do they minister to you?
Yes. I have had several God moments that relate to my watching these. Either in how they relate to me personally, or in getting an answer to a question that someone else has asked me about.

      -Do they equip you?
Partly answered this above. Also should note that I am witnessing to about 5 co-workers using the venti-Jesus book and these podcasts.

      -How could they be improved?
I am going to run out of them soon, do you think you could do more than 1 per week? Not kidding….

-Would you like to be able to comment on each talk after it is given?
Most of the time I’m just in awe….would you like to hear “Praise God” and “Thankyou” on a regular basis?

-Would you recommend them to a friend to watch?
Have shared these with co-workers, friends, and recommended that my youth listen. Have literally put the ear-phones in my husbands ears as he drove down the road, because he needed to hear the message!
