    Denver, Tampa and Charlotte

Posted on Sunday 3 December 2006 by Greg @ 8:35 am
    Filed under: Rants

Okay, so I left frigid Denver on Friday and flew to warm Tampa. This morning I left warm Tampa for cool Charlotte. And I head back tomorrow to good old Colorado for more cold weather (it snowed the day after I left…again!)

Why leave frigid Denver to begin with?

To do the Tampa Bay Luis Palau Festival youth training (wow that’s a mouthful!) Saturday night I had the privilege of equipping around 2,000 teenagers to share the good news of Jesus. The vast majority took The 48 Hour Challenge (if you were one of them I’ll be reading your story when you post it below!) In addition most of the youth leaders adopted The Go Wide Plan (www.dare2share.org/gowide). What made the trip especially fun was staying with my friends Ed and Becky right on their beautiful oceanfront house. NOTE: Don’t ever tell your wife you are walking on the beach in 80 degree weather when she and the kids are "snowed in". Take my word for it.

Why leave warm Tampa after that?

To get to cool Charlotte and do a session for Youth Specialties called "Ministry Mutiny" (based on my book) and equip youth leaders to overthrow the errant system of YM unknowingly delivered to us by our YM forefathers. I can’t wait?

Why head back to frigid Colorado tomorrow morning?

To get back to the warm arms of my beautiful wife, spastic boy and spunky daughter!

    Signed, Greg Stier

      • hey greg i agree with you colorado is awesome!…it’s definately one of my favorite places(and i’m from texas)..gotta love that snow!..anyways now to my really cool 48hour challenge story..the thing is, my story starts at last march’s D2S conference in houston, texas…i took the 48hour challenge then and wrote a letter to my good friend shaun about why i was a christian, how and when i accepted christ and why it was so important for to tell him about Him….needless to say shaun’s immediate response was anything less than amazing….he read and then didn’t really pay any attention to it…well after about 2 years  of invitation after invitation, my friends and i finally got him to go to our church’s Disciple Now about 2 weeks ago…guess what?…shaun loved it!!! he says that he’s going to start coming to our wednesday night youth meeting and is planning on coming to our church camp this summer!! and if that wasn’t enough amazing news…shaun told me that he was really greatful for my letter (from the 48hr challenge) that i gave him last march and that although he didn’t understand it’s importance then, after D-Now he now sees how much truth it holds and that he’s really greatful to have a friend that was that honest with him…all i have to say is PRAISE GOD!!!…please pray along with me for God to continue to work on my friend’s heart

      • Cold?  It was -30 here Saturday night! I dont imagine it got above 0 here today. It just means the ice will thicken on the lake sooner. Ice fishing any one? Glad your back home for a bit Greg. You could always bring home a bucket of sand, turn up the heat, show pictures of you on the beach, and tell eveyone to dream….no your right, my wife wouldn’t fall for that either!

      • Hey Greg, the Dare 2 Share conference in Denver was awesome. Our youth group is came from Green River, Wyoming(bet you’ve never heard of that place!). I had brought two new friends with me to Dare 2 Share, and their lives were changed drastically. I hesitated a bit at the thought of asking them to youth group, and that’s when I felt the Holy Spirit dwell on me with these words: "Jesus died for them, too!" Ever since, I’ve used these words as a drive to talk to my friends about the love of Jesus and how His infinite grace can save everyone! All I can say, thank you, Greg, for bringing Dare 2 Share, not just for my new friends, but to give me a chance to take a big leap in my spiritual walk with Jesus Christ. God Bless and keep up the awesome ministry you’ve taken up. In Christ, Wade(Isaiah 26:3)
