Invincible Youth Ministry Conference Tour

Dare 2 Share kicks off in Washington D.C. this weekend!

How appropriate, the weekend after what may amount to one of the most significant elections in American history we are kicking off the Dare 2 Share Invincible tour this weekend at The Patriot Center in/by/close to our nation’s capitol. It should be a flag waving, American style party.

How did Obama win the election? He harnessed an army of young people with the promise of change, organized them for action and then unleashed them to make a difference…and they did. Many pollsters agree that it was the young that won this election for Obama.

How will we win America to Jesus? The same way! We, by God’s grace, are going to harness an even younger generation (teenagers, not twentysomethings) for change. This transformation will not be political but spiritual, the kind of change that matters most. Our prayer is that through the Invincible tour God will raise up over 50,000 teen evangelists who will dive into significant spritual conversations (aka “shreddin’ the gnar) with five friends right away, and all of their friends after that.

The apostle Paul wrote “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes….” True change, lasting change, doesn’t come through campaign promises or political victories. It comes through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. It comes through His resurrection from the dead. It comes through spreading that message through the next generation to their generation.

If you plan on being at the Dare 2 Share conference this weekend and want to get a head start on identifying the five friends you want to “shred the gnar” with click here and then tell me your story.

Pray for us this weekend! Pray that God does something BIG!!!!

Signed, Greg Stier

      Hey Greg,
I wanted to say that I am really really looking forward to Invincible this weekend in DC. My youth group got a new youth pastor this past January and the Lord has been doing awesome things in and thru him that are pouring out and affecting our group of about 60 kids. He is very evangelisticly minded which was really not where we were at all, but God is slowly changing us thru using him. The Holy Spirit has done some serious deep growing and now He’s pushing us to go wide. My pastor started an Eteam in the spring of which I am apart and God is totally filling us up with the kind of soul fuel only He can give and He’s opening oppertunities for us to further His kingdom. All that to say that after being apart of Eteam and seeing what God has done to our group using dare2share, I cannot wait to see what He’ll do to a huge group like this durring a weekend of training and Christian fellowship. Talk about another boost of soul fuel! I’m praying for you all and cannot tell you how much I’m looking forward to feeling and seeing God work this coming weekend! Praise Jesus!!! To God be the glory…

I went to Survive and now Invincible. Awesome. I don’t know where to begin…it was just awesome. The skits–clever, insightful and down right personal (Friday)–you guys hit the mark!!

The teaching…simple, easy to understand, easy to apply—awesome.

The Worship…FEE–WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW - what a HEART OF WORSHIP! Humility at it’s best!
…LEELAND………..Such a cool group of KIDS…great heart and a love for the
      Lord

THANK YOU for adding a young lady to the “chat”. It’s so important that a ladies address ladies!!

Oh I almost forgot…PRAYER PROPELS YOU…WOW!! I LOVED that. Showing the different postures of prayer…taking us through that showed the teens how simple it is to pray and a tangible way of prayer…it was soooooooooo awesome. I’m just overwhelmed. It was an awesome experience for us as 2nd timers…and we had 4 teens on the trip that were first-timers–they were AMAZED with the amount of teens that were there…worshiping GOD!!

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…and they made commitments to share the Gospel with their friends.

Greg, Dewey, Zane, A/V folks in the back of the room, the artists…thank you so much for a memorable weekend!!

      God Bless,

Hi, my name is Danielle and I am 16 years old and I also just attended your Washington DC D2S conference.
I had wanted to possibly e-mail you but this was the only way I found to contact you.
I absolutly need to share this with you so bear with me,
Growing up I lived in an abusive home and raised my 4 younger siblings, Jesus had never been a part of my life. The abuse at home led to drug and alcohol addiction, overdoses, cutting behavior, eating disorders, 4 weeks in a mental hospital, and two suicide attempts.
My first suicide attempt happened when I was 11.
      It (luckily) failed.
And in the hospital a nurse approached me and tried to introduce jesus into my life, which I automatically rejected.
I thought that if god existed, why would he put me through so much pain.
Finally when I turned 13 I moved away but still continued to struggle with addiction, bulimia and cutting.
After my second suicide attempt my life was in shambles and only getting worse. I knew I wouldnt survive much longer.
Six months ago a friend begged me to go to youth group with her and to stop her crying I agreed to attend one. This is where I met Kevin-Anne and John Smith the youth group leaders, they automatically accepted me in and treated me like I had been there for years. Over the next few weeks I came sparingly and was hesitant and reluctant to believe. Luckily I started to go regularly to hang out with my friends and because the Smiths treated me like a daughter. I instantly connected with them and I could tell they sensed I was at rock bottom in my life. Slowly they introduced Jesus through long discussions, your D2S journey DVD’s (inspirational!), and their experiences.
I was still hesitant to believe but continued to attend youth group. Soon I found myself intrigued and I could sense something new about the way I saw things. I started reading the bible and went to them with questions, they made sure I knew they were always a phone call away. By the time Dare to Share time came around Kevin-Anne convinced me to come and looking back I was excited to actually see someplace outside of Pennsylvania. I went there with the impression that, of course I would love to live eternally and forget the pain I grew up with but I felt I didn’t deserve it.
I also felt that if god existed how could he forgive me for rejecting his gift of life, not once, but twice.
The first day blew me away and got me wondering, Had I been wrong for 16 years? Had everything I thought I knew been a lie?
A close friend of mine was saved on this day and I wondered if I would ever be in that same place of happiness he was that night.
      Of course I doubted it.
But the next day I truly listened with my heart, Erin’s testimony struck an emotional place with me.
She spoke of how in middle school she hated herself, the way she looked, the person she was and of how she too struggled with cutting.
This was exactly how I felt.
      I was shocked.
Leeland started playing and Leeland himself began to speak and I cried my eyes out because for once I began to let myself believe.
      Then you bagan to speak.
The passion in your voice, the way you spoke of Christ and the way you completly devoted your entire life to Him, blew me away.

That night you saved my life.
      You saved me.
      You all did.
Before that point I had no intentions of trying to live, no intentions of cleaning my life up.
And all intentions of ending my life.

Through tears I told my youth group leader of my pain, my wishes, my past, and most of all my desire to put my life and trust in Jesus Christ.
She too cried as did John and our entire group.
Little did I know they each prayed for me everyday.

As of last night I commited myself to a relationship with the Lord and began my journey.
Taking with me my former atheist friend and boyfriend of 3 years.

I wanted to thank you but I now see there are no words that measure up.
I am eternally grateful. You truly did do Gods work.
And I am also wishing to tell you I am here today because of you.
I am alive because of you.
Your words made a monumental impact on my life.
I just wanted to make sure you knew of this impact you make.

If you would wish to contact me my email address is: dasanden@psdmail.org

      Thank you so much.
      Danielle

p.s Your throw up sound is unbelivable. Totally real.
      Muy magnifico.

    • Hey Greg! Once again I enjoyed every minute of dare to share this past weekend! (the invincible tour nov 7 & 8th 2008) i think the invincible name for the conference was perfect! that is exactly how i feel right now! everytime i leave this conference im a new person! im determined for it not to fade this time! my faith doesnt fade, just the fire in me fades. so i came home from church today,i spent the night at my friends house after dare to share so it was the first time being home since the conference. i didnt call anyone for the cell phone challenge while at the conference, because all my freinds were there, and my friends that werent there, they know jesus. when i came home, i felt like god was telling me- amanda; u have numbers to ppl at college and ppl at work. tell them! so i texted this girl in my speech class and probably sent over 20 diff txts. her thouts were that when we die we are ghosts. she doesnt believe in jesus or the devil. and i got all the way to the end asking her if she wanted to accept jesus into her heart and she responded by saying i dont believe in jesus and i dont think i am going to change my mind. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO! If u have time out of ur busy schedule, maybe you could give me some advice on this. I dont know what to do! But this weekend was amazing.

As we all know, as a new Christian, we are like spounges. I couldn’t think of a better intruduction on how to go all out for God (Shreddin-the-gnar). When she got to our house tonight for youth service, she brought an IM transcrip of a friend that she just had spoken with. I wept as I read how she not only talked to her friend (one of the five she had listed from the confrence) what Christ meant to her, but she aslo explained to her friend that this newly relationship that she has with Jesus is aslo available to her as well. Her friend started off in the conversation by saying that this thing wasn’t for her. By the end of the conversation her friend was asking if it was OK to come to her youth group next week. God is good.

I had a question for you if you know the answer. At the conference the worship had motion backgrounds with the worship words programmed into them. I know you can get them at igniter media, but I am looking for the ones that went with FEE and I can’t find them. Can you help me?

    • Hey you guys did an awesome job and God is shaping your ministry the right way. The information was not rushed and it was organized and while there is so much to tell The children of God you controlled the desire to put too much into a weekend. I am disappointed that you are not coming back to the NE region next year. My youth are totally upset. While in some respects I understand your reasoning, continue to lift that up in prayer because each year we reach new youth and an event time spent with God can be so good even for the leaders…I claim that victory already that God will change your heart and if it is about numbers consider the time of year. You are competing with 2 other events one on the same weekend and one the following weekend. Our youth need to hear the passion for the Gospel and you are the only conference that really focuses on this as well as discipleship. I loved that too you really focused on discipleship this weekend.

Keep up the good work and may you start a much needed revival in our country through the youth who so desparately need it. The great Revival that JOnathon Edwards is credited with starting was started with in the Youth of the era and I believe the same will happen in today’s culture! Please continue to lift up our ministries and our youth that the fire that was started this weekend may continue to burn and spread and that the enemies would be held at bay!

Thanks for what you do! We hope to see you next year. I may right more about what happen this time last year and where I was and how that has changed so much and how God faithfully brought me through!

Be Blessed my family in Christ in everything you do in His name. Continue to claim those victories He has given us to claim!

Continuing to be a Spirtual Pyromaniac For Him!

    • Hey Greg,

I am a Youth Pastor in Souderton P.A. The weekend was a huge blessing to our youth! Two years ago a match was lit when at a very low point in my life and ministry (that little spark of hope was a book called ‘ministry mutiny’). Then God blessed me with a new church position to serve as a Youth Pastor, which then led to the grenade being thrown (D&W and E-Team launched). Then this past weekend the ‘BOMB’ went off! 62 people from the Youth Ministry were impacted by God relationally and relentlessly moving in a very raw and real way! Thank you for D2S, because we are feeling the aftermath of God’s truth blow our minds this past weekend. Thank you for challenging me to not just bring a few kids to the conference the first time round, but to bring the whole group! God honored this move of faith even when I was thinking I am a crazy for buying 50 tickets. In the end I needed more tickets!

At the Youth Pastor session you talked about evangelism closing the gap on the double life of teenagers. I was thinking about it and this phrase came to mind: “Taking the double dare kills the double life”. Again thank you.

      In Christ,

      Pastor Andrew

You know it’s my desire to equip teens and youth workers to…”Shred the Gnar” right here in my home state. Pray for me as I continue to connect with youth workers from the East Coast.
