   • Hey Greg, As someone who has to preach a different message to the same people every week I feel your "preaching pain."  But take heart – I was at a conference once with a really big name preacher who is on the radio and while I was listening to him I actually fell asleep!  (Not Swindoll – I love the guy!)  I thought it was a pretty boring sermon.  So while we wish they could all be home runs, sometimes we have to settle for singles or doubles.  God forbid we ever strike out – something I have never heard you do. SE

   • Hi Greg,     I can identify with the base hit analogy and even feel I strike out sometimes while ministering to our youth.  Occassionally when I am feeling like this, a young person will come up and tell me the impact that I had on them.  I can tell you that the youth group that I help with had some great and meaningful talks at our camp that were inspired by both of your sermons.                                                        Ken

Right now as a matter of fact I’m congratulating my friend on being clean off of drugs for three months. He’s going through depression now, though, and thinks his life is worthless. After getting the 48 hour challenge again at Creation, I totally saw the opportunity. I keep bringing the Gospel home, and if it wasn’t for "being a fanatic for Christ," he wouldn’t get any of it. But he at least sees in me that I have something more than the people he does dope with. One of my youth went down and prayed to recieve Christ over the weekend at Creation West and she is on fire!! Very cool. Anyways, kind of curious about the one day evangelism conference at Luis Palau center. Do you have anymore info on that? I think it was supposed to be in October. Your speaking really got through to me. So I was thrilled to see your name on the roster as a speaker for Creation 06. This was my first year being at Creation. I have to say that if it wasn’t the best experience of my life, it is one of the best. And I have to say that all my friends gave me a weird look when i screamed "Hey Religion Man!" right before you did, because I knew exactly when you would say it.

Listening to someone who shares my conviction about the deapth of the "cross talk" reminds me that God’s word never returns void, and those who are called will come to the cross. And every "home run" is proceeded by some teen (reminding me Jesus already pinch hit for me) responding to the Gospel. I think these blogs speak that loud and clear. Like you say "the rest is just details". BTW, cant wait for the new book (I am ready for some conviction) and I cought most of the big fish down here, so Maui was probably the better choice.
