Hey, Greg:
I came across a possible resource for your teachings on spiritual warfare in the book, "Judgment: how winning leaders make great calls" by Noel Tichy & Warren Bennis (Portfolio Penguin Group, New York: 2007): 186-189.

In the book, they highlight the US military's guide in a crisis on the battlefield, METT-T or Mission, Enemy, Terrain, Troops available, and Time. They share questions for each area: Mission-what is my unit suppose to do?; Enemy-what are we up against?, need reinforcements?; Terrain-how will this environment assist us or make us vulnerable?; Troops available-more than soldires, what material resources are available to us or can we get our hands on, can others assist?; Time-how much time do i have to make this decision?

The next helpful info is the work they reference; a chapter by Karl Weick, entitled "A Stress Analysis of Future Battlefields" in Blunt, James and John Blaire. "Leadership on the Future Battlefield" (Washington, D.C.: Pergamon-Brassey, 1985). The book's authors stat the his statements have clear analogies in today's business enviroment but I also see insight into spiritual warfare. I'll highlight one characteristic of future battlefields which dovetails with your comments on armoring up (above): "Will be impossible to run away from battle, because unclear in which direction safety lies, or whether persons will be able to avoid extended exposure while trying to locate safety (Tichy & Bennis, page 187)."

I trust this is helpful. You are helpful to me. Thanks for your passion for evangelism. I attended the Columbus D2S event last year. Fight on!

Hi Greg! I've loved hearing you speak and reading your blogs for some time now. Thank you for all your thoughts and encouragement and your straightforward ways of doing so. I'll be praying for you and your struggles. I can completely relate to being targeted by the evil one and his forces. For several years now, our youth and kids programs (which I'm currently in charge of) have been our church's only means of outreach and serious disciple-growing. It's almost sad - so much potential yet no one but our kids willing to use it. We are now in the process of changing pastors (our old pastor was simply not what our church needed) and we have been very excited about what God will now be able to do with us. Unfortunately, our new pastor isn't necessarily what we were expecting either, and already Satan has used him to cause some major discontent and hurt. Please pray that not only our church can know and follow the will of God, but that I can manage to weather these storms and not give up in the face of so much adversity. Because I'm walking a thin line here. :( Thanks, In Christ, Erica

I'll be praying for the Dare 2 Share team=] That must be really hard with such little time to do all of that. And that verse Katie gave you, you definately(sp?) need to remember that. I thank God for you guys and what you did in my life. I was like so depressed and in so much pain before I went to Dare 2 Share and then that first message I heard just really spoke to me so I renewed my relationship with Jesus. I'm so thankful that you and your team spreads the word to teenagers all over the country. It's so awesome=]

Hey, Greg. I was distracted from Him just last night in a meeting at church! Stinkin' longing to be noticed and admired by humans rather than The Only One Who Matters! When you wrote "Armor up!", it took me back to my days of karate competition when I would wrap my hands in cloth, pull on my gloves and those cute little styrofoam booties to "kick some booty". Nothing psyched me up more than when I was Armoring Up to do battle. What an analogy to the Armor of God in Ephesians 6. When I envision myself pulling on and fastening all God's Armor about my body and actually arming myself with a Braveheart William Wallace Sword of the Spirit I get PUMPED!!!!! Pray for me and my brother Gene in Christ as we arm ouselves with His Holy Armor to do battle against this world and plunder as many as possible from Satan for the Army of Christ. Prayin' the same for you and your ministry, my brother! - Will

Tonight is the seventh week of Matthew House. We had seen a big increase in new students that have never been to church or youth group. This week we're starting The GOSPEL Journey. Please pray for our new students and for hearts and lives to be changed.

Greg,
you encourage us so much through your ministry and your posts here. Once we came back from Phoenix our youth group seemed to fall apart due to many events & distractions. We went through the 1st half of the gospel journey with no REAL response to it- except a lot of talking and apathy about it. We have postponed the 2nd half of the GOSPEL journey for the fall- in the middle of all this there is a HUGE rift going throuhg our little ministry throughout the entire church. but as you know a little rift can cause really BIG swells. We are regrouping- praying ALOT- while trying to make decisions on what to do. We meet tonight for a leadership meeting to discuss our change of plans etc. So far we dont have any funding to promise for the D2S in Phoenix although we do want to be there. pray for us, that our students who seemed to have a real change in March will come back with a heart full of God, not a spirit of mediocrity. praying for you and your team!!!!! WHat you do is such a blessing to so many of us out here on the front lines!

Hey bro! I know what you're going through. I've been preparing my summer ministry at the camp for several months and during my journey the Evil one has prowled around bringing his basket of discouragement and distractions our way as well. However, through it all God has been working in our life to prepare us for His ministry at the camp. We're praying for you and everyone at D2S. I know this next tour is truly going to be amazing! Why? Let's face it, if it wasn't going to be, Satan wouldn't be prowling around.
