A Sequel to Venti Jesus Please!

Posted on Thursday 4 June 2009 by Greg @ 12:22 pm
    Filed under: Rants

I am writing a sequel to VJP and need your prayers. While the first book is an evangelistic book the sequel will be, by God’s grace, a causal book (not to be confused with casual.) The setting is a high school where the three characters in VJP go. They, in the power of the Holy Spirit, trigger and particpate in the rapid spread of the gospel at their high school through relational/relentless evangelism.

Please pray for wisdom as I write it. My prayer is to tap into the idea of the gospel as cause, the ultimate cause, that teenagers can see, seize and spread. My hope is that when a teenager finishes reading it he or she will say, “Here am I. Send me!”

And, no, I’m not going to call it Big Gulp Jesus.

    Signed, Greg Stier

      • i will pray that you do find the words to put down. Venti Jesus Please has helped a lot in convincing my friends to trust God and come to him. im writing a book too and when i cant think of what to write, i sit in a quiet place for about ten minutes and think abut how i want the stroy to go. if i cant think of anyhting i carry paper with me so i can write at any time the words come. i wrote a poem about it.

        a kite will fly
        when the wind blows
        however much the kiteflier tries
        he cannot command the wind

im sure yo already know this but i feel like saying it. god will give you the words when you need them. he is the wind, your book is the kite. just keep hoping and praying, the wind will soon blow again and your kite will fly.

      • Hey Greg,

I am real excited for your next book. You are very inspiring to me and my youth ministry. God is using you in amazing ways.

Anyways I just thought you should look at the review from an atheist about your last book on amazon. Just so you know what someone that doesn’t believe in Jesus thought of it.

        http://www.amazon.com/Venti-Jesus-Please-Greg-Stier/dp/0972550720/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1244241983&sr=8-6

        Thanks!

Hooray for the student that gave him the book!! Way to share their faith! Very exciting. Besides, the reviewer really did not say anything about the book, only argued his own pov. Cant wait for the double venti Jesus…lol

Amen! I also think his point is not very good either. For his whole logic is—’Jesus didn’t have much of a sacrifice if he knew he was going to rise from the dead and go to heaven.’ However, that’s a very weak argument for that is like saying, its not much of a sacrifice to take a brutal beating for someone else but you know a doctor can fix you up.

And the argument itself is a weak/flawed one because its not about the sacrifice itself but the price/judgment that had to be paid and that rising from the dead did not squash the sacrifice but fulfilled the sacrifice and showed that he was not just a man but was in fact the SON OF GOD! It showed the grace of God but yet the rising of the dead gave us hope and give us power.

        Thank you God!
