Hi Greg. My wife Sue and I are on board to pray and be involved as much as the Lord leads. I am impressed with your response to the Lord's leading through local churches, your board of directors, and the contemporary culture. The Body functions no matter what outward form it may manifest! Ha! God is too cool!
We are excited that the Lord has lead us to D2S (just this am)in response to a specific prayer for direction in ministry. Please keep us in prayer as things unfold, and hopefully we will partner together in a long range work. That would be sweet.
In Christ Forever,
Brian and Sue Tyler

Hey Teresa...

Thanks for your e-mail. Here are some answers:

Paul (the Talker)...check out the way he communicates in the second half of Acts 17 to the men of Athens (creative, quotes their pagan poets, compliments them, tells the whole story of the gospel from Adam and Eve)...he totally adapts to the Athenians style of learning verses the Jewish style which was more didactic and "expository" (check out the way he taught in the synagogue in the beginning of Acts 17 to the Jews)...he could talk to Jews in their style and then switch and talk to Greeks in theirs.

Peter (the Stalker)...he is the first one to stand up in Acts 2 and he just goes off. He is straightforward, kind of abrupt but very effective.

Barnabas (the buddy) was nicknamed "The Son of Encouragement" He took Paul in after his conversion when nobody else would (Acts 9:23-27) Also you can see the way that Priscilla and Aquilla took Apollos in (they were both buddies too) in Acts 18:24-28.

Luke (the brain) he wrote two of the most detailed accounts of the life of Jesus (luke) and the early church (Acts) to one dude named "Theophilus". These verses explain his approach which was very well researched and academically solvent (Luke 1:1-4)

Hope that helps...Also I have a whole section in the book called Dare 2 Share... A Field Guide to sharing your faith on it. The chapter is titled, "Witnessing with Style."

Be well!

Hi, Greg. My name is Teresa, I'm 18 and I attended a d2s conference a couple years ago.
The first point you made in this post, about different styles of witnessing, really shed light on the subject for me. I am a buddy, and I've known that, but I haven't been able to reconcile that with the fact that others do witnessing differently. As a result, I hated door-knocking at d2s, but I loved the phone call challenge (my friend came to Christ as a result! :D)
Well, anyway, I wanted to ask you if you could give me some Scripture references that show Paul, Peter, Barnabas, and Luke, in their different styles of ministry. The reason I ask is because I'm going to be teaching a Sunday school class on sharing the Gospel, and I really feel like God has used this blog post to equip me to do so.
Your help would be much appreciated!!!
