Ya know it's not so much that parents dump it on us as youth pastors...it's a bigger issue of the parent's spirituality. We as youth pastors and senior pastors are to equip the parents to form "church" within their own home. I do a montly newsletter to our parents and am starting a blog for them. It's small but it's a simple way to say "hey...these are your kids...teach them...and I'll back you up". I know a lot of times parents have it flipped around...but let's look at most of our kids...and most of the parents, they don't have a spiritual structure in their homes. I once learned what resource mobilization was...and that is our best choice to building the body of Christ. So YEAH...no more outsourcing...instead mobilize to equip and utilize!! D.B.
