Sweet Sixteen

Posted on Friday 11 August 2006 by Greg @ 8:13 am
Filed under: Home Sweet Home

Today is my sixteen year wedding anniversary.

I can ‘t believe the gift that God has given me of my wife. She is the perfect blend of sugar and spice, tailor made for yours truly.

Debbie is a person who genuinely and deeply loves others. She loves her children, her husband, her parents, her friends and the elementary school kids she gets to pour into as a 5th Grade public school teacher.

What’s most impressive is that she has survived being married to me for the last sixteen years. This may surprise you but I am not the easiest person to live with. I am twitchy, spastic, loud and messy (and that’s just when I’m sleeping!) In addition I’m on the road a lot.

It takes a special person to put with an intense, out-of-control, visionary spaz like me. So thank you Debbie. Thank you for putting up with me, for loving me and for being by my side in this wild roller coaster of a life that God has put us on together.

I love you with all my heart.

Signed, Greg Stier

    • my wife and i have only been married for 4 years, but that’s beause we’re only in our mid to late 20’s.  i’ve got to say that she reflects God’s love in an amazing way.  she’s had plenty good reasons to leave, but she’s still here supporting me and loving me in spite of my unlovableness.  (i think i made that word up).  regardless of how bad the bad days get, God definitely knew what He was doing when he started the whole marriage thing.  thank you, God.

    • Hey! Congratulations!!!! We will be celebrating 14 yrs on the 29th!  I relate, (being a spastic freak my self) to a view of greatness in my own help-mate. I think one of the greatest gifts you could give her this year may be a print out of this blog. Not only do you know how much of a jewel your wife is, now (place daily blog hit counter here) other people do too. And of course sometimes the accolade for wives of spaz’s is the one thing that they need. And here is the cool part, God new my wife would marry me, so he gifted her with grace and patience! Ok so not my best linear writing..but you get it, your a brethren spaz!
