Ho! Ho! No!!!
Too many times we as Christians either avoid sharing the gospel with family and friends during Christmas or we do it in ways that are borderline ineffective or over-the-liine obnoxious.
Here’s a few examples of what not to do:
-Spike someone’s eggnog with Communion wine and then use it as an evangelistic opportunity to talk [...]

Last night my ten year old son, Jeremy, and I returned from our Compassion trip to Colombia. There we met our wonderful Compassion child and her amazing family. Karla lost her mom five years ago in a motorcycle accident and is being raised, along with her two sisters, by her grandmother and father. Because of [...]

The blog world is full of those who criticize, analyze and philosophize. But it’s also full of those who practice, implement and apply. Those who live to type are often those who are the most biting and sarcastic. Those who live, then type, are often the most insightful and practical.
So which kind of blogger are [...]

I have a long way to go in the area of personal evangelism but these three habits have helped me to make it a growing priority in my life. My prayer is that these practices will help you to do the same.
1. Ask for “Jesus eyes” consistently.
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion [...]

True grit is more than a great movie. It’s what Jesus calls us to in the world of professional ministry.
Jesus set the pace for all of us with his own brand of hands-on earthly outreach. He got up close and personal with sinners so that he could transform them into saints. As a result he [...]

My Imposter

I have an imposter who looks just like me.
He mimicks my actions down to a tee.
He does what I do and says what I say,
Not once in awhile but every day.
It’s kind of a shock to know he is there.
My once private life is kind of a scare.
He can interupt me any time, any place
When [...]
Why focus on teenagers?

There’s a certain level of patronization that happens to those who work with teenagers. Youth leaders will hear things like “When are you going to become a real pastor?” (As if being a youth leader was some kind of second class ministry position) or “It’s good you are working with teens because, after all, they [...]

4. It doesn’t really change us.
5. It is only for pastors.
6. Contrary to 1 [...]
