Rantings of a Jesus-loving, raving lunatic
Evangelism doesn’t work anymore. Maybe the culture is too sophisticated for it, especially teenagers. Perhaps it’s that this technologically connected generation of young people is totally disconnected from an ancient message that, at first glance, seems absolutely irrelevant to their lifestyles.
How can such a seemingly dated message compete with instant messaging? How can amazing grace […]
The storm is coming!
As I type these words thousands of teenagers have spread out all across Lincoln Nebraska collecting canned goods, prayer requests and sharing Jesus. It’s a cold rain now but is supposed to turn into snow any moment. A major winter storm has been forecast for Nebraska (and pretty much all across the […]
I am torn. On one hand I am the farthest thing from a Nebraska Cornhusker fan. By the way, what is a cornhusker anyway? I’m guessing it is somebody who husks corn professionally. Let me apologize in advance to any professional corn huskers out there, but, come on Nebraska, you couldn’t come up with a […]
Whew!
The torrent of the second half of the Game Day conference tour has begun. The last few weekends have been back to back conferences: Columbus and St. Louis then off to the Group Youth Worker’s Conference in Indy. It all starts over again next weekend in Lincoln then on to Phoenix. And then it gets really busy! […]
Its something I wasn’t mentally prepared for.
I had one hundred or so youth leaders in a conference room in Indianapolis just a few days ago at the Group and Simply Youth Ministry sponsored National Youth Worker’s Conference. We had just spent a day together talking about equipping their teens to share Jesus with confidence and […]

9,000 teens trained to know, live, share and own their faith in Jesus.
415 churches equipped with the Go Wide outreach strategy.
26 tons of canned food […]
Holy Haircuts Batman…my folicles are gone.
While staying at the Hyatt Regency by the Scotttrade Center in St. Louis I strolled into a mall at Union Square to get some hair gel. While there I got talked into getting a trim (not a cut.) Instead I got a cut (not a trim.) I haven’t been this bald since […]
It started nine years ago in St. Louis at North County Community Church with 241 teenagers. The next year it grew to 600 at 1st Baptist Church of St. Charles. We doubled the next year and then again the next year after that. Pretty soon we had to move out of churches completely and move to […]
It’s freezing here. I’m talking 20 below with the wind chill. But that didn’t stop the almost 5,000 teenagers at our Dare 2 Share conference from going door to door to collect canned food and spread the good news of Jesus all across the great city of Columbus. How did they do it without getting […]
